I had never had pants before age 27, when my hubby of 30 years brought me my first pair of pants and over the years liked me in pants always saying I out dressed him and didn't believe I could camp, fish work ranch in a dress. I am now turning 55 and all I want to go back to wearing dresses only. I exspecially want to celebrate being a WOMAN.

Just asked my husband I'd I started wearing dresses all of the time, would he be okay with that? He said I should do whatever I wanted. I then asked him if he would feel weird when we are out in public....will he feel like you over dressed. He then told me his grandma used to wear only sundresses. I took that as a, "no" he wouldn't feel weird. My husband is on board, my best friend can't even imagine me in a dress, my girly sister thinks I'm going through a midlife crisis lol But they all are supportive. This is going to be a huge change. I am sorry your husband does not support you desire to dress as you feel comfortable. I do hope you both can find a compromise.

Hi bttrflysprit, I'm thinking of wearing more dresses, I'm 60, and I look after sheep on our smallholding, along with cats and gardening. Any tips on doing all that in a dress? I'm most worried about ticks... thanks for any advice! Wendy
@jugendamthamburg-ggkonform3819 ай бұрын
When doing garden work, perhaps a lightweight loose cotton tunic which is long enough to cover your crotch and underneath light-colored cotton trousers so once you get back inside you can see any ticks. I am sometimes helping out in a home which has mosquitoes and there I wear that sort of combination instead of a dress in order to protect my legs from mosquitoes while still being more feminine.

I appreciated you explaining that you have your wardrobe the way it is because you it is part of your branding. I am a housewife and my wardrobe is smaller with skirts/tops that mix and match and are practical with a toddler. However, I will say that your Leading Lady videos have made me want to have more feminine, delicate details and I am working on that. I am enjoying the input from everyone here. I have three day dresses for spring/summer and the same for autumn/winter with the addition of a lace dress for church/parties. It took years to get to this point, shopping sales and adding a dress a year, but now I typically wear a dress for two days, alternating and airing, since I have a slip next to my skin and wear aprons. I'd like a couple of extra dresses to be honest, especially for summer as I dislike one of the warmer seasons dresses and hope to replace it next year. But three is enough to get by with as I have a skirt I can wear if everything is in the wash which definitely comes in useful!

I found an easy sweet spot with the number of clothes for my 4 kids. I did laundry once per week (I still do. It works for me.). So, they each had 10 outfits for every day and 4 for Sunday. That way, they could get through the week, and give us time to put things away before they ran out of clothes. It worked well. As for my wardrobe, I tend to limit it by what fits comfortably in the amount of closet and drawer space that I have. I don't store out of season clothing away, so that is a good limitation. I find that if I can keep things tidy easily, the clothes don't become such a source of frustration. On the other hand, if the kids never have anything clean to wear, that is also frustrating. So 10 sets got us through, even in a busy week.

I totally agree with you, and I feel it's not about perfection it's about progress. If you are doing something you love it doesn't feel like a chore. My take on this other may agree or not is that you are a minimalist. Although you have a lot of dresses it's a one and done deal there are no pants and shirts and dresses can easily fit in a closet without taking up much room. Being a minimalist is also a mindset wearing dresses everyday gets rid of the clutter in more ways than one and eases stress that's why I love wearing dresses every day and I have you to thank for it. In my opinion the service that you provide deserves financial compensation. I for one would not mind if you did sponsorships etc. I would be happy for you.

Well timed video. I just tried everything on in my closet and found I've grown out of everything but 1 jacket, 7 shirts and sweaters, 4 pairs of pants and a skirt since I hit my target weight. Not exactly a dress, but a lot of dresses are really simple to make. A few weeks back when I was 7-9 weeks pregnant and non of my pants fit anymore, I took an old sheet I got at goodwill and made a dress, I used a long sleve t shirt as a pattern for the top, and a skirt is easy to make by gathering one end of a rectangle. It only took me 2-3 movies long to make, but if I didn’t use a sewing machine it would have probably taken 5x as long. Circle skirts are even easier, which is the type of skirt that’s attached to most of her dresses. I feel I should also add that was the first dress I ever made. And before that I had only made 2 aprons and a skirt, so I’m definitely not experienced.
