I feel like this channel is my guilty pleasure. Friday night, a bowl of mint chip with a ridiculous amount of syrup and an episode of Inspired by Nikki. I started DEEP cleaning my bedroom today post holidays, illness etc...whew! Such a good feeling to make our master bedroom special again AND setting an example for the kids. I do believe now I will assess my bedding after watching this video. I as well am just plum tired and it's only 7:30 p.m. Turning in early and looking forward to decluttering and more cleaning tomorrow to make the home feel peaceful. Have a wonderful weekend friend.

Absolutely Nikki! Our bedroom is considered sacred space to us. I love using the best bed linen that we can afford, even the curtains are linen. I had researched the health benefits of linen (organic) and learned that it actually keeps the air cleaner and fresher than simple cotton. Apparently it absorbs moisture, odor, and VOC's, how great it that! And I agree, lace, ruffles, and beautiful pillows all add to making our bedroom feel peaceful and dreamy! Nikki- your choice of colors are so gorgeous! Recently I started my own solo Massage Therapy business and I rent a space from a Chiropractor. She had the entire office remodeled and she chose neutrals too. I have a light gray room with cream borders along the doors and window sills. I love it so much! Years ago, when my oldest children were little, I decluttered and whittled us down to "mostly minimalist". We were moving often at the time so this was a blessing for sure. Now we have settled and I am chosing "collections and themes" for the things we bring in. I love old books, and candles and brass candle sticks and pretty china and dainty lace doilies and houseplants. I try to only bring in what speaks to me. Sometimes i carry an item all through the store and then replace it to its shelf if the vibe just isnt there. Its so lovely to have places and spaces set up and ready to enjoy instead of in need of a thorough cleaning before enjoyment. 💗 I downsized my nightstand to minimize clutter and upsized my husband to one with 3 drawers to contain his things.

I am like you and always am shuffling things around to see if they work better in a different space. I feel like you can get by with so much less stuff when you are open to moving and rearranging and restyling. My youngest calls it " neating things up" and i think that is just a genius word. 🤣

😁 Along with loving notepads, I love stationery, too. I’m so glad that you like the cards that I use for my correspondence. I write to friends and shut ins and like to think that the pretty notecards add a little beauty to their days. I often frame notecards because they are so pretty. In fact, I have your porch notecard framed . I haven’t written anything on it, I like the negative space of it. It’s hard to explain how decluttering makes us feel “lighter”, but it does. Hallmark stores, sadly, has very little stationery nowadays. I find that sad. When I was growing up, my small hometown had a stationery store . It had cards, stationery, notecards, folders, pens and pencils, and wrapping paper . Oh, I loved it and miss it to this day. We need to revive such special places. Thanks for having a pen pal group. They definitely add a little beauty. Framing is a great idea, how nice that you did for the porch one! I remember Hallmark having so many stationery options. Now it's so slim and most just say "thank you" on them. Once, I ran across some beautiful light pink thin stationery paper with envelopes. We have had all white bedding for many years. We have 4 seasons where we live so in the wintertime I use an extra warm duvet insert made of goose down. I like the Pottery Barn duvet covers. Sometimes I add touches of beige as an accent color. I always enjoy your videos where you show how you decorate and your thought process behind your choices. Sweet Dreams !! 🛌

Did you dance ballet? You dance beautifully. I recently restarted ballet classes as a 28 year old and have been enjoying it so much. I used to dance and teach lyrical, contemporary, and jazz but ballet is always 80% harder. So beautiful and so much effort and work goes into looking so graceful and effortless. I do layer my bed. My duvet is basically for show. I do not use it to cover up. I had fitted bottom sheet, top sheet, blanket/coverlet. My duvet is folded down at the foot of the bed💕🌷😊

I totally agree with everything said about decluttering. My problem is the same with the added problem of being afraid to throw things away that are useful. Some things I have cannot be donated or sold, but I'm not using them and they are taking up space and unsightly. I have prayed to know whether or not it would be wasteful and wrong to just throw them in the garbage. If anyone wants to put in there two cents, please do!

That was a very ambitious first day of this vlog! Antiquing is so much fun - nothing beats browsing around in person. So, I also didn't know what happened to the Simply Shabby Chic line that Target used to carry, then I found it online through Walmart. I rely on their sheets for my summer bedding. Hi Nikki! The dark blue dress is beautiful on you. The Shabby Chic line was picked up by Wal-Mart which was a disappointment. I have only bought her sheets since they came out years ago. But the new sheets at Walmart are polyester and not cotton. Polyester sheets are not for me. She does have her exclusive line available on her website. Thank you for saying that Diana! I think it comes down to what you are most comfortable wearing and what you wish to be covered, etc. That changes as we age so there may be adjustments but the overall silhouette I think is timeless.

Thank you for this lovely video 🙂 Our bed has 2 pillows (to sleep on) then 3 cushions (removed when sleeping). I find too many decorative cushions make the bed and the room look optically smaller and "heavier". But yours look great! For summer I choose one of my vintage French floral or embroidered -by my grandmother or my mother- top sheets, in cotton or linen, and a white or cream cotton couvre-lit during the day. I was wondering if "coverlet" maybe comes from the French word couvre-lit, which means "covers the bed". In winter: our duvet in a cotton duvet cover, and a couple of thin but so soft blankets folded on the foot of the bed. I love the result to be very warm but also very light! I agree with you, it's much better to visit an antique shop in person, rather than online. I love to support their owners who work so hard and sit there all day waiting for local customers, we can chat with them a bit, and see the items for real 💓

It's similar to the OGHom Steamer on Amazon. I wouldn't say it's the best however and I would like something a little bigger, that holds more water. Mine drips too.

Welcome Luisa! I'm so glad you love what you see here! I love my chairs and my husband who at first said he didn't like them, prefers them now and really loves playing his video games in them and lounging. I think they are the perfect size.
