@@SomeGuy712x If you use the speed running trick called Wrong Warp, you can remove 11 of the eggs as you won't need to fight the Bert and Big Boo I think you can also skip the boss that requires 4 eggs to beat, but I think you need at least an egg or two to do another wrong warp by removing some spikes, though this wrong warp is harder to do as it requires you to enter a pipe from the underside. I'm not sure if there is a way to get away from the 9 from Hookbill Koopa. So that brings it down to 18 eggs. oh and you don't need the egg in 1-2 at all to beat the level you can skip part of the level if you know how to spit out an enemy and jump on it to get above the section which requires the egg.

Hey Nico, I think you might have missed something with the giant Koopa. The first hit will make him stand up, but he will stand up on his own if you give him enough time. This means you would only need 3 eggs to knock him over, making a total of *9 eggs,* not 12.

There's a glitch that allows you to warp to 1-1 from 1-4, 2-4 and 5-4 which would eliminate all the eggs needed for those bosses. You can also bring a chicken to 4-8 from 4-7 which means you don't need eggs to kill hookbill. So really all you need is the 7 eggs for bowser.

1-4 is actually beatable without breaking any eggs. Go down the dark room, get hit and flutter up above the exit just before catching Mario. Then flutter 8-9 times, and than fall down. You will be warped to 1-1, and completing it counts as completing 1-4. 2-4 and other troublesome levels: It's possible to get an exit sprite in Yoshi's egg stash by performing the null egg glitch in world 2-2 and then manipulate the game into loading an exit sprite (ID = 10) into Yoshi's egg stash, and then carry it over to the troublesome level. Entering the exit will most of the time warp you to 1-1, just as easy as before. Getting a key to load in Yoshi's egg stash can also completely skip a level (except for 6-8). 6-6: There is a trick that can allow you to get the key early. There is also a game end glitch, but it's not considered being humanly possible yet. So yeah, this run can be completed, but only by using glitches.

I think rules should have excluded bonus items, as it is pretty obvious that you can substitute every egg needed with melons except for boss fights, so the other levels are not really interesting. Also, you can save at least 3 (or even 6?) eggs at the boss in 4-8 by waiting until Koopa stands and runs towards you by itself. And does 5-4 really require 4 hits? Thought it was 3 but not sure here. And finally, I don't think you can consider the egg at 19:30 being the red one you had before. That said, there is no indication the egg broke, it is just lost. In a crumbling castle though.

Before watching the video i can answer that! You only need EXACTLY as many eggs as there is Boss HP. Because on the level select screen you can hold SELECT then press X X Y B A in that order to do minigames. Grab some free items, like watermelons by farming the Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest minigame against the AI and only use that to get through all 48 levels, and reserve eggs for the bosses only where you can't use items, unless you have to break a wall, even then you should be able to lick the eggs back from death. Also some bosses can be killed without eggs too, so there's that, although SOME are harder than others (Like Tap-Tap) In short : 6+0+5+0+5+1+0+9+4+0+0+7 = 31 eggs total to kill all bosses if you have perfect RNG on the bosses (Especially Hookbill, who's a complete egg sponge taking either 3 to 4 eggs to knock over depending on if he's on 4 or 2 legs) Now let's see how right or wrong i was.

If one were a madman, and were willing to rather...loosely...define completing all stages, then you could use the known 1-1 warps in 1-4, 2-4, and 5-4, to save the fourteen eggs from those three bosses. There is a glitch you can do on pipes in this game where if you jump and enter a pipe at the same time, it sends you to coordinates 0, 0 (the top left corner of the tutorial level) and if you do some precise flutters you can load in the rest of the ground and finish the level. So if there are any pipes in levels that were impossible without breaking an egg. Check out A+Start's Son of a Glitch video if you need more info

The code for the minigames on the map is actually available through normal play. In 5-4 (Sluggy's Fort), take the door to the left of the starting point. If you use an item in the next room to kill the chain chomp, a door will appear that has a hint block that gives you the code. :3 I wonder how the Extra Stages and Secret Stages (GBA Version) would fare with this challenge. BTW, I haven't tried this myself, so I'm not sure if it works, but could you use a melon just before going through the boss door? If the game lets you, then Burt, Hookbill, and possibly Sluggy could be beaten without breaking eggs.

Actually, for the Giant Koopa boss (Hookbill), he only really needs 9 eggs. As if you leave him standing on all fours for some time, he'll eventually get up onto two legs automatically, then just use 3 eggs to knock him over.
