Airsoft was banned for a few reasons and one being people thought you could convert an airsoft replica to a functioning firearm. As for paintball it's probably cause "looks like gun = scary and bad". Of course there's different laws depending on the state/territory.

I have an idea that you absolutely *need* to try some time! There's this clip from a Japanese show where they launch tires off of a ski jump. Maybe you could do something similar, either send various objects down a ski jump or have tires launch off a ski jump to destroy objects. It would be absolutely epic!

@@asonei3531 Oh, that's a *much* better option, can't believe I didn't think of that! Many places with ski resorts just sit empty during the summer, with grass on the slopes. A working ski lift would make transporting items super easy too. I know that Whistler in Canada operates in the summer as a mountain biking area, taking advantage of the slopes and the lift infrastructure. For ski areas that just sit empty and snowless in the summer though, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

I think part of the reason with the bow, is it doesn’t seem like you’re accounting for gravity and drag so rather than aiming quite central, to hit multiple balloons over a large distance, you should aim higher on the first balloon.

If you measure the ratio of quantity of people near a gun each day to amount of people shit and that ratio of amount of people in the ocean each day to amount of people bitten by a shark you are statistically significantly more likely to get bitten by a shark. Should you have to get a letter to swim in the ocean? There are a huge amount of things statistically more likely to kill you than guns that don't require a letter. You guys should all get together and build three identical catapults. Then, each of you modifies yours to make improvements to the design. Then, get three each of a variety of things for each of you and have a contest to see whose modified catapult gets the most combined distance with all items thrown. If somebody's catapult breaks, they get the option of taking a dare in each round for 'virtual distance', agreed on by the other two, added to their score.

Actually you should make FOUR catapults. Leave one unmodified, and have one of your crew fire the 'control' catapult to see which of you, if any, have managed to actually improve the design and which of you made it worse.
