look up your cpu and see how many pcie lanes it can control. even if your board has 20 lanes available, your cpu might not run that many. (really rough description sorry)

Great info on your channel Seb. I also gave this a go and was able to get a max of 13 gpu's on a gaming board. Asus Prime Z 270-p 4 x grt 3080, 6 x rtx 3070, 2 x rtx 3060ti and a rtx 3060. the chipset on this board has a lot of pcie lanes.

I did this myself as i found good deals on gpus. Im up to 8 on my mother board. The problem i have is the 3500x only has 16 pcie lanes not the 24 that AMD has on their other cpus. The board i used had an m.2 ssd left in it so 4 of those 16 are being occupied.

Theoretically yes but unfortunately you’re probably going to run into other limitations in your system like how many PCIe lanes your CPU+motherboard combination can support. Hey Seb, I have a msi b450 tomahawk mobo and I can only get it to see 6 gpus. Any advice or is that all it can do? As a side note, that is with attempting two of the 4 way splitters and currently trying to get it to show the 7th GPU with no luck.

I have an auros z390 pro wifi gaming mining board and when i connect my 5th 1660 super, the pc only goes to the bios page i jave tried many different configurations to the bios like setting it to gen1 for multiple gpus but still no success. My power supply is 1600watts so i believe i am inder the wattage. Any suggestions?

Can't find decent GPU's under 2.5x retail cost... and when I do it's like a chance to get in line to get one. I've got a Dell 7910 with 6 PCIe slots and 1300W PSU. Got a small rack and another 850 Platnium PSU but need more GPU's!!!

Hi. I have 9 gpu running. I install 8 gpu and finalize the configuration so I add more 1 GPU and do this configuration. Even I can’t see 1 gpu if I did the configuration before, the configuration will be applied (you only can’t see the gpu but msi afterburner is doing the configuration for this gpu). P.s. Today I am using t-Rex with Absolut clock so it is easier.

I don’t see why not! :) Just know at some point you might run into other limitations than how many GPUs you can physically plug into the motherboard, like how many PCIe lanes your CPU+motherboard combo can support. Hey sebs, the temperature of ur running GPU is actually amazing provided how close they are stack vertically & horizontally. How did u achieved that Low Temp? Is it something to do with ur Ambient Temp? Or u changed the thermal paste/thermal pad on the cards?

So I have an ASUS Z370-A that I have been struggling with for 3 weeks and can only get 5 GPU's recognised. No matter the BIOS settings, order, risers, cables, etc. When I plug in the 6th several other GPS's stop being recognised. May I ask which MOBO you used in this video please?

Hey can any one help - on one of my mining rigs im using a Z-Prim390 Mobo - it can take 4 GPU's no problem - soon as i add in a 5th GPU i get no signal output and the one time i did get a signal output it hadnt recognised the card (even after messing around with drivers) - The card works in my other rig with all the same cables and riseres so i know its not broken hardware - can the Zprime390 just not handle that many cards ? even though it has 6 PCI-E Slots ?

yeah turn off csm in bios. (under operating system i think). you should be able to get 10 cards working

Hey dude, love your videos. Had a question for you. I have a nice liquid cooled 2070 super gaming pc, but the mother board has 6 pcie slots. Is there a way to add a 5 card rig, with its own power supply, to the gaming PC?

Absolutely. What you can do is plug those four GPUs in on risers onto your motherboard and power them with a separate power supply. Just make sure you link that power supply up to your main power supply with something like an Add2PSU chip. Good luck!

I have an MSI Z370 Carbon Pro motherboard which has six (6) Pcie slots, but I can’t connect more than five (5) without without crashing. I can plug in six (6) GPU’s, but I get weird issues with windows. If I close my miner, my entire pc crashes and won’t restart or even boot into bios settings. I’ll end up having the clear the cmos and set everything back up.

I had a similar issue with a msi z390 plus mobo. I had to reset the cmos, flashed the bios to the latest version, ensure booting in UEFI (not legacy). After doing all that it still wouldn’t boot. The final fix was to connect my monitor using a good dp cable and not some cheap hdmi and it booted to windows. Good luck! PS: there are a lot of people having this issue, just google it and you get some suggestions on fixes.

Can you Share what motherboard bios settings you used? As your board has 7 pci-e and 2 x m.2 slots so technically 9 pcie slots. So with 9 pcie splitters can we run 9x4 - 36 gpus in it? using windows or hiveos? Also are you running in Gen1 or Gen 2 speed in bios?

You can see all bios settings in my latest video! :) As for adding 36 GPUs on one motherboard. Unfortunately you will run into other limitations other than how many GPUs you can physically plug into your rig. Like how many PCIe devices your motherboard+cpu combo supports. Good luck!
