What we really need is for more manufacturers to step up and start cranking out 5.45x39mm (7.62x39mm as well of course). It seems that Hornady is really the only one that offers 5.45x39mm in their 60gr VMAX ammo (of course I understand there has to be a really big demand for it if other companies decide to get into the 5.45 game). 5.56 AKs in my opinion, are kind of sort of the "Alternate AK-74s"; with the 5.45x39mm ammo situation being what it is (which is really the cartridge we want), 5.56x45mm is as close as we're going to get.

By doing so, they already screwed the pooch on their want to have an unmolested, random sample run of the gun. Their intervention gave us an uncharacteristic and inherently biased performance.

I own M85 and M92, both great guns. Neither have the rear folding trunnion and stock catch up front and they are longer barreled, so they are not really Krinks. Purists will say the PSA isn't a Krink either, but KRINK is literally stamped onto the receiver. I paid $1220 for a plum wood model. An AKS-74U parts kit is 6 grand, lol.

I love my PSA AKV 9mm!! It’s like a pistol caliber Krink. I’m at about a thousand rounds with no malfunctions using PSA and Magpul stick mags. The ALG trigger is a dream! PSA does a great job for the price point. And yes I miss the days of the $300 AK’s!
