Sushi chef from America here. Not to bad making rolls, and bonus points for helping out kids. However, I can 100% make double the rolls you did with what you had, 85% sure I can triple what you made if not more. Then again portion sizes are different I suppose. Sushi profits compared to ingredients are pretty good haha, none the less keep up the good work!
@PraetorAirsoft2 ай бұрын
Yeah agreed, he was very generous with the ingredients and I think that amount of sushi would cost roughly £500 here as shown, or £600-700 with better portioning.

@PititeNetoile26 күн бұрын
I agree on the cream cheese,but maybe in their culture they like it that way,it could also be a decision to reduce costs while still making the sushi rolls filling. When it comes to the fish itself, i'm curious, when did he waste meat ? I'm no professional,but it really looked like his skills were on point. Were there any moves that you would've done differently?

around my area it costs about 8 or 9 dollars for a simple salmon roll like that. if each of your rolls were 8 pieces you had what 55 orders of rolls? It's definitely more cost effective to make yourself especially if you don't include tip.

If you haven’t already done the shwarma and you follow the same method for assessing value you should weigh one of yours all total (maybe weight a couple and split the difference) then just weigh the meat and do the same with the restaurant purchased shwarma.

one thing for the futur when you make sushi make sure to cool the rice on a big sheet (so that it has more surface area to cool ) and then the food wil be more fresh and aromatic (i picked on this when i saw the steamed containers) but absolutley amazing

I don’t think the dollar estimate was correct. Yours seem like larger than normal rolls and I’ve never seen that much salmon on a single ill. If you were to somehow separate the salmon on the rolls you ordered and weigh that and weigh the rolls as a whole you would definitely find you got a lot more.
