THAT ON ALL FOURS WOULD BE THE UNFLIPABLE CAR
@AshmeedMohamed6 жыл бұрын
This car stock weights about 2700 lbs. That's 675 lbs per wheel. If the wheel has five studs, that's 135 lbs per stud. If the studs are M12 x 1.25 grade 12.9, the average shear stress is around 10000 psi. Given that the rough area of an M12 is 0.175 squared inches. The shear stress on each bolt while the car is stationary is about 771 psi. This number is nowhere near the max strength of 10000 psi, so there was no need to think that the studs would break as soon as you lowered the car.
@SuperSreggin6 жыл бұрын
tru
@X11CHASE6 жыл бұрын
That’s not how it works in the real world; purely for starters I can tell you that there is not an even amount of weight distribution on all 4 corners... Secondly, the wheel studs themselves aren’t the only potential point of failure Your math isn’t incorrect, just incomplete.
@nanathannvw6 жыл бұрын
I’m thankful that ashmeed doesn’t do stress calculations for a living. These lugs aren’t in sheer.
@bladerobinson23506 жыл бұрын
Did you calculate the leverage of how far its out?
@Patrick94GSR6 жыл бұрын
lol dude, wheel studs are in tension from the lug nut threads pulling on the stud threads. Not shear. And moving the wheel farther and farther out turns that stack of spacers into a fatass lever, multiplying the stress on each stud.

@@boxbreakracing I dont know all the details, dont think anyone does, but from the countless videos on the subject is was basically like haggard garage started out and got big. OD was running all the shit behind the scenes, like editing, paying bills, etc. Then as the channel grew he started to get a little more shady with things, ALLEGEDLY, and started pocketed more money/shifted the channel to his instead of everyone. He also did some fuck shit to ricer miata when they were in high school that added to the drama. Like I said I don;t know everything, or anywhere probably close to everything, but there are videos about haggard garage and all the drama associated with it. I dont think OD is a bad dude, I just think he did some shady shit that karma may bite him in the ass for , but we'll see.
