Mess was and is the epitome and personification of a captain. To have the balls to not only say, "We'll Win Tonight", but then go out and singlehandedly take that team on his back and score a natural hat trick in the third period to win that game... That is the stuff of legends; you only read about things like that in storybooks. I experienced '94 as a 13 year old, and now I only hope that Bread, Mika, Kreids and the rest of the boys are able to lift the Cup in such a magical way, someday soon. #LGR

I think Ryan Geztlaf of the ducks could play a Messier like role on this young team in the future & he can help Chytil & Howden, develop & grow at Center till they both are ready to take over, He knows what it takes to win The Stanley Cup! Something most NY Rangers don't know how to do!

Uh....ummm...if you wanted to win the Stanley cup, you had to have a guy like messier on the team........1994...ummm Pushing 30 years, you think that they would've brought him in to coach the team by now.. .I believe its the only coaching job that he would take...guess it'll be another 13 years or so.... 🤨 The guy's won 6 cups... .
