Millets have come full circle in India. For centuries, they formed the backbone of Indian diets. After staying away from the scene for decades, they are making a comeback onto our plates. They have become the hottest ‘supergrain’ in town. Once considered inferior, millets are being touted as a powerhouse of health, economic, and environmental benefits. And Hyderabad has become a leading hub of this millet-makeover movement.

The GOI has no place in business. India's needs a thriving private sector. Let the GOI focus on the judiciary.

@@tubelz Infact it was Govt of India which proposed IYM2023 in FAO and UNGA approved it, which has benefitted so many countries. It is the Central and State Governments both , who have allocated Tax payer's money appropriately to promote consumption and growth of Millets through various schemes and supported many startups, whereby Farmers have got better prices. MSP has nearly increased by 30 to 100 % in last 10 years for Millets. Request to Contact CSIR- IIMR, Hyderabad to get complete knowledge, Sir.

@@MilletsofIndia Thank you for the information. This is about economic fundamentals that will propel India to become a high income country. The GOI has a very limited budget. It must prioritize spending on core services: judiciary and law enforcement, education, infrastructure. Second, India must move towards a free market economy. Without economic freedom India will remain a poor country.

@@tubelz India was very much down and now 5th worldwide and soon to be 3rd. Secondly, Government can spend only what is getting collected by Taxes and by borrowing. Thanks to honest Tax payers and strict enforcement combined with intelligence that those many of those evading taxes are under net .What is required now importantly is that all those who are enjoying freedom and all facilities in our country honestly pay taxes when they are actually coming in that bracket.

@@MilletsofIndia Thank you, but per capita income is around $2700.00 and nearly half of the workforce is engaged in farming. The overwhelming majority of Indians are still very poor. For India to become a high income country on a per capita basis major economic reforms are needed, as well fiscal prudence.

Its great but now rural poor people can't afford millets who consumed it earlier so there are shifting towards fair price shops (Ration) rice and wheat , while urban india is getting healthy rural india getting unhealthy , government need to step in and set msp and buy millets and distribute them in fair price shops (Ration)

@theprint Health Sutra founder’s name is Sai Krishna and not Sai KrishNAN. Telugu people don’t end names with ‘AN’ unlike Tamil names. Please respect people and their ethnicity.
