I paid to have my apartment emptied in one day, and at 79, I moved to Queretaro with one suitcase. It is safer and 70% less expensive living here, and I am now 80 in a safe,cool and beautiful city. I traveled from age 20 to 80..

It is so true. People drag stuff around for years, one place to another. Others could probably use things you don't need or use, more than you. Give it away or sell it

Well I was so happily wrong. 🥳 Initial thoughts: this is going to be overwhelming, this is going to be condescending, I don’t think I’ll watch this whole episode. Now: Wow. His composure and calmness was enchanting. Now I want to get more focused on budgeting. Which has always scared and overwhelmed me. Lewis - always asking the incredible questions 🤩 Thanks Lewis, Joshua, and team!!! 🥳

I am actually in the process of packing up and going through everything I own and it must fit in a 6x10 storage unit. This is to help me cut down on the unnecessary items

Do you really need those things if they just going to be sitting down in a storage unit

@Tony Maren an answer to you question do I really need all that stuff that's in storage I am using the storage unit as a tool what goes in the storage unit is everything that I am keeping minus some furniture I have to make a decision for other things to go. When finished it will all come back in the house.

Joshua and Ryan helped me to minimize, scan 40 years of photo albums(thick old photo books) and stored in iCloud, gave all my stuff to good will, retired, sold the house and went on a long vacation. Important to learn how to let go of stuff so you can find peace and spend more time with your loved ones. These guys will help you to get there to be happy with less stuff.

If you can let go of your possession, it will be a lot easier to also let go of negativity. Both things aren't that different
@astatine0085
@astatine0085 2 жыл бұрын
how so? things and negativity? is it the collecting of things, or the things-owning-you scenario?
@TheDhammaHub

@@astatine0085 what is the difference between "letting go" of a view and letting go of a possession? I mean, technically those are different in "look and feel", but its equally difficult to give things up
@astatine0085
@astatine0085 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheDhammaHub well, you're letting go of your time, for a paycheck, to exchange for other people's time in making, designing, producing things you need or want. At the end of the day, you're still letting go of your time for someone else's product/produce/theft (government).

@UCMjnWRxMO7syo9ZJxSPD7mw hm. Sounds like the pop-culture herding all the sheeple to the great reset, one world order. You (not thee) will own nothing, and be happy.

@@astatine0085 I don't think people who have a serious interest in non-ownership have an interest in other peoples ownership - would be kinda stupid

Heh, I intentionally let my phone battery die and then left my phone to charge out of sight because I realised I spend way too much time mindlessly on social media, namely IG. Instead after a break, I got online on my computer (for some reason, computer time is more intentional) and decided to watch some of your videos, Lewis. Because that is meaningful, valuable to me. Even brought out a notebook and took notes throughout your conversation. I saw you jot sth down, so it inspired me to make this time even more meaningful and useful. Tomorrow, I can just go over my notes, and then the important messages from this conversation will stick longer in my mind. I love how you spread out the topic of minimalism on actual essentialism in all areas of life. What is essential, what is true, what is real... But I'm only half-way though.. Back to listening. :)

My phone broke when i was on holiday for a week. I felt so relaxed and no one could contact me. I use my phone to take photos a lot but felt like i enjoyed the moment more instead of looking through a camera.
