Agree one of my favorite rides of all time and feel Kennedy Space Center should have a similar if not better ride!

Its definitely a great experience. And that's a good point, it would be a very good fit at the KSC. But in their defense it cost Disney $100 Million to build it, so it may be a little out of the Visitor Center's budget.

Aviation Austin agreed it would require deep pockets but as much as I’m a fan of all things space, KSC lacks “out of this world” experiences that would definitely drive more traffic therefore increasing profits and visitors. Keep up the cool channel 🤙🏽

I remember going on this ride for the first time with my dad and brothers. My brothers and I LOVED it, but it was WAY too intense for our dad. He was white as a sheet when we got off, and even when we were just on the "launch pad" looking up at the tower, he was already thinking, "No no no no no no! Get me off this thing!" He won't even go on the *green* side.

Yeah most people that experienced the orange side first and didn't like it, won't even want to try green even though there's no spinning on the green side.

@@AviationAustin I developed a migraine from the G-force the first time I went on it. I made sure to drink plenty of water, and keep some Advil handy just in case for next time.

Same thing with me. I loved the ride, went on it a couple of times always orange, took my dad on it and he barely pulled through. When we finally landed on Mars he asked "Do we have to go back to Earth now?" thinking the ride isn't over.

I just rode mission space orange group yesterday. I was so nervous. My dad told me he had been ruined for the rest of the day. So, I went with my other friend to go on the ride. Our room and the room next to us were saluting. So that's what I did too. When we finished the launch and the slingshot around the moon, my eyes were spinning. I finally made it to Mars and I was so scared that we were going to have to experience all those G-forces when we fall of the cliff or just got back to earth. But what I didn't expect, happened. We got off the ride when we got on Mars. I was in relief that I didn't get sick. I came out when my dad was waiting for me and he thought, oh no. I'm afraid my son is going to get sick. But surprisingly, I made it out alive. :)

I had the same experience. Terrified and shaking before going on, as it’s the only ride in Florida I was scared to do. I didn’t feel sick after, but during, my eyes were spinning. I don’t know about you, but I actually felt the capsules spin during the launch which you’re not supposed to. Despite following all directions, I still felt it go in a circle.

What I find funny is that when I went (the old version) the wait time signs were drastically different: The Green side was about 50 minutes. The Orange side? 15 minutes! 😂😮 Maybe that should be a hint that it would be wise to skip the Orange side...
@AviationAustin
@AviationAustin 4 жыл бұрын
I have not seen that happen often. Usually orange is longer because it's more fun.

i like how at 6:30 you see the webb space telescope. this ride is over 15 years old and the telescope just launched this year. They have been working on that telescope for over 20 years, so disney put it in there like you were in the future. clever

Well there you go! Textbook example of G-LOC. If you were to brave it again make sure you are well hydrated and if you really are worried you can employ some of the techniques pilots use to avoid G-LOC.

as a whole, I love this ride to bits. However, entry into the Martian atmosphere bothers me greatly; you accelerate into it, not decelerate as you should. The real space shuttle reenters backwards and uses it's engines as a means of slowing itself down, but in mission space, you accelerate (go faster) nose-first towards the planet. This wouldn't take much effort to get right, and is entirely possible with the equipment in the ride, but it doesn't.
@AviationAustin
@AviationAustin 3 жыл бұрын
I totally agree there is no way the craft would survive that aggressive of an entry into the Martian atmosphere.

I don't think it's 0 g...I thought it was just the difference between the sustained g's and all the sudden no more. I could be mistaken though. I'll have to look into it.

Another good presentation - but the VOLUME PEAKS brought me in from outdoors - background listening while gardening. WOW - Austin - some severe audio gain differences in this - suddenly - like - almost blow up my little THX rated)ub sat system. Please watch your audio levels - Consistent please. Just finished this. Sorry for the drama - but a big deal to my speakers. Not sure what you're using for lapel mic or mic in camera on this one - but the mixed in audio is about double or more in resulting SPL. Just sayin' (And I'm trying to constructively help.) If you are going to do a live background - great - just note that the clock is visible... IF you have time. Check out a guy I follow - for these pointers. His presentation and attention to detail. Financial stuff - but good for 'production study' perhaps? JoeBloggs. Spin and scan a few? Note the identical background - same cabinet - perfect each time. Some regulars notice the figure behind him on the file cabinet - changes - several of them all similar - he poses them - viewers notice - he says nothing. He's got a little verse about Patreon and BuyMeACoffee but I just watch and like. Still he adds chapters to make viewing easy. He also does ask every time, for people to LIKE as well - yes it's cheesy - but ask 'to help the algorithm promote my videos'. I've mentioned to Joe - that some of his older episodes were loaded in plosives and sibilance. So far your material in that area seems excellent (again background - but I heard the levels problem from a distance). There are filters for mics that eliminate a lot of that - and audio apps in post production. A good RODE mic or something with a wind-sack for it that you can really get to know - for down the road. (Easter egg for YOU - if you go through JoeBloggs stuff - even fast or just beginning and end - note his shirt! I commented the other day - that I noticed it changed. He's ALWAYS got one of those two shirts on. Just a thing? Or consistency thing?? Branding?? Dunno' how many notice??) Another great YT channnel to check out - for production quality - is eSysman superyachts. He works on board one Senior Tech Officer I think - but has added 200,000 subs since his very analytical and accurate information about the arrest (versus seizures) of russian superyachts that have been in the news. But his use of drones and his music - especially lately - - like epic! (And who doesn't like learning about impounded oligarch superyachts.) Like amazing production quality. And he punches them out within 24 hours of the event (arrest of vessel) happening! I have an SPL meter if you want me to check - at user level - in a wifi setup, through a laptop with a big PDP and little THX speaker system connected. (And earbuds on BT if I want). Keep up the good work !
