It’d be pretty hard work to get hold of ergot bread these days in most industrialised country’s. You’d literally have to grow the wheat or barley yourself, under conditions that ergot likes growing in. And then happen to have ergot invade your crop. Then harvest your crop, dry the grains, grind them into flour and bake with them. That’s not something anyone’s going to do on the spur of the moment without a great deal of research. On the other hand, just eating bread that’s gone mouldy will probably make you very sick too, and won’t even have a chance of giving you a trip. So definitely don’t do that either

LSD has been a major tool for me in managing and beginning to recover from combat PTSD. Spent a decade on pill cocktails from the VA before I was introduced to L, threw out all the pills after 3rd therapeutic use of L. 8 years later majority of the secondary issues of PTSD (depression, dissociation, isolating myself, BPD) are non existent. These days I microdose 10-20mcg a 1-2 times a week to manage anxiety, sleep disorder a couple other minor issues that weren't super noticeable before my major symptoms were controlled.

I manage the residual stress of combat trauma (13F, Sadr City in 2003-2004, Taji 2004-2006) by reading philosophy 2ish hours a morning and regular exercise, good eating choices and an admittedly healthy amount of alcohol. I’m glad LSD works for you bud, I simply don’t have access nor the time away from my child to make that possible for me but my way is working so far.

When I was a young teenager… I was extremely hateful, angry, and no self esteem. I even planned a shooting, I hated my classmates that much and the world. Then I did mushrooms at 15 years old and it changed my ENTIRE life. I felt one with the universe and everything in it. I realized everyone is special and that life is a beautiful gift. It immediately broke me down and put me into check. 15 years later and I’ve done psychedelics many, many times and they have only made me a more loving and grounded human. What a beautiful gift these medicines are. It’s a shame the state wants to tell people what they can and can’t use for their mental and spiritual health. But that doesn’t have to stop you, and I’m THANKFUL everyday that I was a rebellious teenager and took that first trip. How amazing my life has turned out to be from where I was and where I could be.

Ironically LSD-25 is one of the best migraine treatments for Cluster Headaches, so he actually did succeed in finding a migraine medicine. As shown in Sewell's studies roughly 80% of LSD participants experienced remission of their migraines.

Even Ergotamine was an awesome med to manage my migraines, but it was pulled from the market over a decade ago even though it was NOT psychoactive! It’s synthesized from the same exact stuff, ergot. NOTHING has come close to managing my migraines since it was taken off the market and my migraines have only worsened. Perhaps they were worried about it being a precursor, but that doesn’t make sense being that it was Rx only and the vast amount of ergot that it would take to synthesize just one psychoactive dose!

As someone with Bipolar I it is so frustrating that someone with my diagnosis is automatically excluded from all forms of psychedelic therapy. I believe it would be so incredibly helpful if I could use psychedelics in a controlled therapy setting and I absolutely would if I had the chance. I have used psychedelics recreationally without negative side effects. I understand why they would not want anyone with a history of psychosis to use them, but although psychosis is a possible symptom of Bipolar disorder it is not present in all cases. I feel that if someone has no history of psychosis and have used psychedelics in the past successfully they should at least be considered on a case by case basis. I hope that in the future they will reconsider and allow greater access to this crucial therapy.

In the meantime, you can use psychedelics therapeutically by yourself. Thousands of people already have and are doing it right now, me among them. I spoke about it to my doctor, psychotherapist as well as social worker, they help me navigate and integrate the psychedelic experiences. If you are already followed by professionals, speak to them about it and if you can source it yourself ( and test it for its contents, there are reagents for that availlable for sale online, erlich and hofmann are the primary ones ) then you can do it safely until MindMed ( MM120, 100 micrograms lysergic tartrate ) and other companies finish their trials so it becomes prescribable. It saved me twice now, but pretty sure its done. I haven't tripped for 1,5 years now and don't even microdose anymore. Had a completely and longlasting traumatic childhood with many forms of abuse and became an orphan early in life on top of a lot of other stuff. Lsd has helped me completely overcome a many years long extreme anxiety disorder, workthrough my complex traumas, fix a fragile ego and many insecurities. It even taught me to cope with the overwhelm that is life, adhd, minor brain dmg, dealing with chronic pain and other mental health disorders. For the first time I'm commiting to actual healthy relationships, feeling like myself, dare to be authentic, took of my mask, able to enjoy life, laugh, feel incredibly appreciative and sometimes even happy! For the longest time I could not for the life of me even imagine life could be this way, while I was deeply depressed and in survival mode for over 20 years. To not undermine my own hard work; of course I've done most the work to get where I am today myself. But you cannot get a nail into the wall by hitting it with your hand.. You need a hammer or something like it. Lsd was my hammer. Oh and p.s. ❤!

The "feeling a new zest for life" the next morning is actually very true. Even after having an unimaginable nightmarish horror trip...next morning I still felt like i was a newborn. Sadly that feeling never was permanent -> I was never able to use it to treat my issues/grow significantly as a person. At least not as much as I wished (not even close)

The study criteria are too narrow IMO. The Phase III Pathfinder clinical trial (focus on safety and long term effects) has some very narrow inclusion criteria. I had weaned myself off serotonin affecting meds only to be told the current trial cohort requires that you have been on no less than 2 different meds "for the current episode". I've been on every SSRI, SSNRI, tricyclic and atypical for TRD, but I would only be considered a valid subject if I put my body through another round of meds I already know don't work for me.

Ergot ≠ mold. It is its own species of fungus entirely more closely related to cordyceps, the fungus that infects insects and turns them in to "zombies", then normal bread mold. The people who made this video clearly arent mycologists and should not speak as if they are an authority on the subject.

I thought that it specifically infects rye crops and those insects that fed off the grain would experience such zombie-like effects. Obviously, this is before baking or even harvesting. Rye bread does not magically get moldy with ergot. Weird.

Actually, I heard of an experimental program where exposure therapy is combined with micro-dosing of 'shrooms. The person takes the psychedelic, waits for it to take effect, & the helper brings in the items, or engineers the situations they have a phobia to. It apparently works very well. After a few exposures to their phobia, the patient has very little reaction to their phobic item.

No it's not possible, LSD is not able to be absorbed through the skin. The theory is that he initially said he absorbed it by touching it because admitting to accidentally ingesting would mean he's a poor chemist and admitting to intentionally ingesting it would raise all kinds of questions

I support the idea of using these drugs for medical purposes, and maybe for recreational uses too. but when it comes to addiction, we should all be taught early that addiction is a part of the human experience, and the challenge is finding a healthy combination of foods, drinks, experiences, and maybe substances, that we become attached to. It's a struggle starting life without knowing this, because now we have to work with the things that we became addicted to before we could consider the impacts on our health.

lsd is not addictive. quite the opposite actually. it's such an intense, exhausting experience, that once it's over you will not want to do it again any time soon. and if you still tried to do it, you wouldn't feel much at all because it causes rapid tolerance that lasts for a week or so. but in various studies they did find (as was briefly mentioned in the video) that it has potential as treatment for addiction to alcohol or other drugs.

​@@rennoc6478LSD has been studied extensively for decades, there is no addictive compounds in it. Alcohol and tobacco are both legal and both cause terrible physical addiction and in the case of alcoholism, life threatening withdrawal.

​@@rennoc6478 he means it's physically impossible to become addicted in the clinical meaning of the word. The active substance creates a tolerance in the human body after use, which means you could use it again but it would have no effect on you. And as stated, there is no known strong desire for it like alcohol or heroin cravings. Used LSD myself, and only do that a few times per year as psychological self treatment with the Stanford method.

I actually have been looking for new glasses and found the "Freedom" frames I love (in orange, not rainbow, but there is a rainbow one) on eyebuydirect and honestly they look pretty similar if not the same. They might be more round on the bottom than the online ones.

I got a very similar pair from Zenni online eyeglasses. My frames are a very similar design with the same colour-scheme. Only real difference in mine is there are subtle, embossed patterns along the top of the frames & on the arms. The were less than a hundred bucks for frames & lenses (bifocal).

I tried LSD in my early 20s when I lived in the Netherlands during the 90s. I was living in a rural environment and this helped because it can be overwhelming in a crazy urban environment when you take it. It was an experience that is hard wired into my head ever since. I had good trips, felt one with the universe and saw pure psychedelic imagery or more so surrealist images. Never had a bad come down in fact BUT it's not for everyone and you must not let yourself completely go when you take it, you need a modicum of self control. It can be dangerous. However I strongly believe that it can help those with chronic mental health conditions. When you think about it our ancient ancestors took these substances as natural medicines and for communicating with the spirit world now we have greedy multibillion dollar companies peddling over priced drugs and unnecessary death.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's i used LSD. I was really sad during my growing up cuz of abusive parents. by the time i graduated school, i had been using for about 6 mths. and I used it for about a year longer. I never had hallucinations, but things where more acute visually. My IQ still was at 174 as it was before use. That was the happiest period of my life and even after I quit, I remained happy for a few more years, but then i started back in sadness and depression. I have been very depressed over the last 10 years. I was even suicidal. I wish it was available in my area to try again.

It removes all the coverings people wear and allows one to work through the real issues they cant avoid but just cover up. Gotta go through it to get past it. Healing is amazing.

Amazing video. I'd just like to point out a tiny mistake. The isomer of LSD shown in 8:27 is not the psychoactive isomer. Out of 4 stereoisomers, only (+) is binding to the receptors.

According to a post, two of them are just weaker than proper LSD (one is _much_ weaker): LSD has two chiral centres, on the 5' and 8' carbons. I drew all the stereoisomers of LSD to show you which are which. (5R,8R)-LSD is what's active. (5S,8S)-LSD has around 2,500-fold lower affinity for the 5-HT2AR than d-LSD. (5R,8S)-LSD has around 25-fold lower affinity (source). The LSD we know is d-LSD. The 8' position can readily epimerise, though, turning d-LSD into (5R,8S)-LSD. Mushrooms saved me from a 15 year depressive episode and gave me the foot up I needed to actually break the chains. I will forever be grateful for that and I hope these substances can be used to help others as well. In my eyes mushrooms are sacred and holy, they come from nature and are absolutely so healing. Before I did them I had no hope that I would ever be able to break free from my depression and I still struggle with it from time to time (I haven’t done them in over 10+ years) but I actually have good days and bad days…and I can overcome my depression whereas in the past it was every single day without end. I had tried many different anti-depressants and they never helped, my depression was treatment resistant. Therapy didn’t help, medications didn’t help..but mushrooms did. I feel blessed. ❤

It's interesting how I'm planning a trip this month and I got recommended this this evening; although it's not LSD, it's usually LSA which is similar in molecular structure. LSD and LSA are very useful tools for us personally, especially with getting out of thought loops onset by depression or anxiety. I wish it wasn't scheduled so high so researchers could do what they have to for the benefit of others, though saying that, I still think either should be regulated; they're not for everyone. If it wasn't for Lucy, I don't think we'd still be here honestly.

They're called milk simply because that's what it _looks_ like. Personally, I can't stand oat milks. I prefer soy milk. It has the right mouth-feel & taste. Almond milk isn't bad, either. Both of them should be unsweetened, though. They add sweeteners to mimic lactose, the sugar in dairy milks, & they usually overdo it.
