As a critical care nurse I get paid more than a resident physician and that’s working only 36 hours a week. I am working on my ARNP as I have discovered that an ARNP hour for hour gets paid more than the Dr they work for. If you're doing something you love, you'll never work a day in your life. But yeah, if you're working more than 8 hours a day you can get burned out. Also, I think it should be important to make a distinction between work and training. People in the military train for exhaustive hours, because in the "real world" their job may demand that kind of output, so they need to be capable of that or wash out. Why is that not okay for physician training or other demanding jobs?

He took his major in college for the reason that he could make money in that field. I thought how sad, he worked in a field his entire life and didn't like what he was doing. I'm older and I'm going into medicine to fulfill my love for medical science and love for helping others. I'm not expecting to get wealthy. I'm hoping to open a small practice someday, work at my own pace and enjoy life. Dr. Le I liked your vlog today it was very realistic and really does cause people to think both like my uncle and myself. Ok great thanks for the info and thank you so much for your videos it’s very informative. I use to work for a colorectal surgeon, general surgeons, internal med, infectious disease docs and a pulmonologist. I’m leaning towards colorectal surgery because his schedule seems lighter because he would come in to clinic on MTWF and do colonoscopies in Thursday’s. I just wanna be a doctor where I’m not called throughout the night or on call. But I don’t think I can get around that. With general surgeons we call texted or surgeons regarding patients pain after surgery etc... we would text the colorectal surgeon about patients wanting to be squeezed in for pain regarding hemorrhoids, thrombosis gems or fissures. Internal med docs didn’t get texted at all I noticed, but will handle the situation when they got in the next day. I’m also thinking about becoming a Radiologist because I’m a intervert and I like being alone sometimes lol idk we’ll see.

Schools usually have an algorithm which they take you score and determine if you qualify for an interview. I think being IMG already puts you at a disadvantage because they will generally accept US medical students first. I made a video talking about the different loan repayment programs for government loans. $321,000 in MED SCHOOL DEBT!kzbin.info/www/bejne/e16XeqmCr9xnrtU Loan repayment really depends on each household. Because the count your spouse income too and calculate how much you have to pay. We been doing ok with repayment but I know other residents who work paycheck to paycheck.

Is your house a rental or did you buy it?

Wow, 50k??? I've made six figures working as a stagehand. I only finished 1 yr of college and went to work. Made 50k + after 2 yrs. Normal pay is 50k to 120k. Depending on how much free time you want.

What is the salary range for a family physician after residency?
@beachbum41666 жыл бұрын
I got zero days off in residency. I am five years out and I still get zero days off per year. If I do take a day off I get no pay.

Hi Jenny, Wyatt is too cute! My baby is about the same age as yours. Much respect for you for being a mom and a resident! A quick question about your pump. I remember you were using Medela. What makes you decide to change to Spectra. What's the difference? Do you make more milk with Spectra? Thanks!

One of my co residents recommended it to me. I was desperate because I felt like I wasn’t pumping as much with the Medela. It was hit for miss and sometimes I’d be stuck to a wall for 30 minutes and I’d only get two ozs. With the Spectra I always get at least 5. Plus it more comfortable, quiet, and portable. For those three reasons a lone I thought it was a good purchase

Do you have to stay 80 hours a week in a hospital even if your agreement is only for 40 hours a week?
@drjennale7 жыл бұрын
There’s no agreement for 40 hours. There is an agreement that you shouldn’t go over 80 hrs lol. Ultimately you are responsible for your patients so you stay until the work is done.

And if your work is done in 40 hours a week can you go home? :)
