I’d drive up to 2mph over, for example going at 62mph which is 100kmh in a 60mph/96kmh zone. Plus, the first time I’ve seen a speed limiter in a car is a Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 in 2016.
@qlus Жыл бұрын
A lot of German cars always had a 155mph limiter but you could always get it removed easily enough
@DaveDVideoMaker Жыл бұрын
@@qlus I wasn’t talking about that. I was talking about the speed limiter where it alerts the driver of the speed limit.
@qlus Жыл бұрын
@@DaveDVideoMaker oh well I wouldn't really call that a limiter since it doesn't prevent the driver from going faster than that limit

Metropolitan/tfl 10% + 2 mph?? This is so wrong and misinformation. There’s literately 0 tolerance in London. I know people who did 21 mph on a 20 miles limit and got speeding ticket.

Interesting to see how the EU speed limiter comes to new vehicles. Is it a upto the driver to enable/disable it while they drive? How about German derestricted Autobahn?
@tomsmith74043 жыл бұрын
Fair point, it would be useless if you could do that whenever though?
@HH0113 жыл бұрын
Ok so I’ve done a quick Google, Looks like they’ll be on default each time you start the car so it becomes annoying to disable which tbf isn’t a bad idea from a safety perspective

This is a bit misleading because in purely legal terms you can be prosecuted for just 1 MPH over the speed limit, I have a friend who was a traffic officer in the Met (now retired) and he said it is down to the discretion of the officer and they take into account much more than the actual speed, the example he used is that he would be much more likely to issue a ticket to a motorist doing 35mph near a school during the day than a motorist doing the same speed on a wide well lit main road with a 30 limit at 3am for example although he may still stop them and have a word. So , he said he takes into account the danger the driver is posing at the time of the offence and the attitude of the driver. All that said I got done by a speed camera for 34mph in a 30 limit but as the guy on the speed awareness course pointed out if that had been a traffic car I probably wouldn't have got a ticket as it is positioned about 25 yards after the limit drops from 50 mph and i was on a trailing throttle and slowing down.

Do you know of anyone that’s won a fight against the DVSA for unfairly failing them on a driving test. I’m considering writing to them for a retake but I’m doubtful that they would listen as they never think they’re wrong. Thanks in advance for help
@dtc_uk3 жыл бұрын
Hi. There is NO appeal against an examiners decision. However, if you feel test was conducted unfairly you can appeal and request a retake. Ie, conducted in heavy rain,
@James-dn1hu3 жыл бұрын
@@dtc_uk what about if I feel they took action and grabbed the wheel when completely unnecessary. What if they are just to overly cautious and nervous and need restraining as an examiner? Ps how often do examiners actually get tested themselves or retrained to make sure that they are actually working to the correct standard and not being to mean or too lenient. Thanks
