Do you carry travel insurance on your cruises? If not, why not?

Thank you for the video. Just reserved a few months ago a 2023 cruise total $12,000 with Regent. Their quote $1400. AIG Travel guard $650

I'm so glad that was helpful and that is a significant savings! Have an amazing cruise, Regent is on our 'list' to try. We've sailed 8 cruise lines so far, will be 9 before December. Azamara, Regent and Seabourn are all on the list to try for 2023-2025. :)

Thank you for your informative video. I recently went on an Antartica cruise and the trip was interrupted or delayed because of weather conditions (we had to wait until a storm passed before our charter flight would fly and had a 1 day delay and then we had to return half a day early in order to avoid a storm. I thought our credit card's trip interruption policy would cover it and filed a claim. My claim was denied because the trip interruption was due to "weather" and weather was not one of the allowed reasons they covered. What kind of insurance or credit card do you recommend that would cover this?

You always have to read those terms and conditions carefully because all travel insurance is not the same. We use and recommend Allianz Global travel insurance. You can also research multiple companies via InsureMyTrip.com.

Just curious, how and where did you get such a low price? I'm doing a 7 night cruise to the carribbean next march. The costs I get on the site you reccommend are $350 to over $600

Insurance costs are based on cost of travel, the ages and amount of travelers and most importantly, the state you live in. Each state in the U.S. has specific insurance rules and regulations that directly affect the cost.

Thank you. Just curious, do you know, for example, what the lowest cost states are and what the scale is for the cost of the cruise? So far it seem arbitrary. I'd be interested in the cut offs would be for future cruises. @@WheresWalterTravel

@@cherrytreecondo3284 In general Washington State has some of the lowest cost for their coverage. Every quote is unique based on the factors I mentioned. Age, number of travelers, state you live in and cost of the travel.

Average person spend $9000 on cruise, and spent $400 in cruise insurance and they pay back $350 for missing , that insurance is a big scam!
@WheresWalterTravel10 ай бұрын
No, travel insurance is not a scam. I have three clients who filed claims in 2023 and were reimbursed the total costs of their cruise when they had to cancel. Everyone should travel with travel insurance.

Thank you so much for your information. I am interested in travel insurance for a cruise to Alaska. I feel that our own medical insurance will cover us because we are American citizens and Alaska is obviously part of the United States. Does that sound reasonable and would it also cover treatment on the ship (princess cruises) ? I am mainly concerned about insurance in case we miss debarkation day or miss the ship in port. What is your experience with insurance for this loss? I’m having a hard time finding it. Thank so again!!
@WheresWalterTravel3 ай бұрын
Your medical insurance may or may not cover you on the ship because it will go into international waters during the journey. You need to check your medical coverage to ensure it covers you if you are injured outside of the United States. For missing the ship, that's travel insurance as described in the video. Allianz and Travel Insured are two companies to consider.
@jenniferkuzman24513 ай бұрын
@@WheresWalterTravelthank you for your info. Good point about international waters. We did get travel insurance so that will give me peace of mind as medical is a standard provision. As to missing debarkation, it’s a one way cruise and we will fly in a day or 2 before so I am not so worried about that and our travel policy will cover it. The head scratcher was finding insurance for missing the ship in a port of call. That was trickier and not all scenarios are insurable, at least from what I found. I got CFAR and interruption for any reason but still not 100% sure it will pay to get us to the next port of call if that happens.

@@jenniferkuzman2451If you miss the ship and it sails away, that most likely depend on the reason you missed the ship. Not all scenarios will be covered.

Call BS!!!! Travel insurance will almost certainly deny any and all claims!!! I know cause it happened to me, finally after a year, yes a whole year, they paid 60%.
@WheresWalterTravel2 ай бұрын
I'm sorry it happened to you, but our clients who have filed claims with Allianz have had them handled within a matter of weeks. We never cruise without travel insurance.
