I have a 2001 Honda S2000 with a F22C swap and I do get why people swap K24s in a S2000 because of the torque but what I don’t get is what’s the point of doing a K swap and You’re spending just as much to buy an F20/22C motor While Fseries motor can make just as much if not more power than a K20 If you turbo and tune them right and I don’t want to hear about saving money or parts are easy to find because Honda’s in general are easy to find parts and build
@JulietteHallie2 жыл бұрын
The initial cost to swap is about the same as the F series engine. Cost of parts for the K is much cheaper. Whether you want to admit it or not F series parts not only are going up in value but also are becoming harder to find. The F series engine is also pretty much maxed out NA as is compared to the K. Also seeing as I use my S2K on track, engines are going to be a consumable I need to add into my budget much more often than a street driven S2K. So now that I paid the 6k to do the swap, it’ll be $800 to replace the motor with another low mileage JDM engine. For me this swap was 100% the right choice. It’s not a common swap on S2000s in the track community on the west coast but the Midwest and east coast are full of Kswapped S2Ks. This video isn’t to convince anyone to K swap. Just how much it cost me to do it. I think everyone should just do what’s best for their use of the car. For me K is the way

@181stLeader2 жыл бұрын
It’s a JDM K24a, it’s out out of the performance accord. It’s the USDM equivalent of the k24a2 from the Acura TSX. Meaning 3 lobe vtec on intake and exhaust cams, making 200hp in stock form. This motor makes similar HP numbers once tuned as the F20c, but at least +30-40 more tq. It also only costs $800 if it ever blows up. You’d be hard pressed to find a good condition F20c for under 5-6k. Plus the aftermarket support for the K series is pretty much unmatched.
@JulietteHallie2 жыл бұрын
Yep. K24 3 lobe comes from an accord or tsx. F20 is prone to fail, Costs too much, not a lot of torque. Im not in a financial position to constantly replace a 6-8 thousand dollar engine when it lets go, which will come quicker as a track car. K series can rev out pretty high, Elusive Motorsports in Australia revs their K24 S2000 to 9k RPM. My 100% stock k24 revs to 7500 RPM..
@JulietteHallie2 жыл бұрын
@@181stLeader you nailed it. People who think f20c and OEM s2000 parts are the BEST and ONLY way have never owned a S2000, done the work on them or paid for it all.
