Jeremy for a 4 cylinder, MSRP and top of the line everything it’s not really that bad of a price, building a STi or mazdaspeed engine to that level of power will cost you quite a bit more. And you can find deals. And building a engine really isn’t all that hard if you’re mechanically inclined, I’m lucky to have gone into the industrial mechanical field, I’m a power engineer... all in all you should be able to source parts for around $10k give or take for a reliable 1000 whp K series done right...

Yeah but the veyron will pump out 1000 hp all day. The veyron isn't that great tbh, you can build a 1k hp tt chevy v8 that will last just as long. They just did it to goof off and justify the price tag, also for smoothness and cool sound. The cool thing about the Honda is power to weight ratio, 1000 hp you can pick up with your hands! Put that thing in a drag bike and go nuts

2 wastegates, intercooler, intercooler piping, BOV,injectors, wiring harness, ecu, tuning, clutch /flywheel kit, trans with lsd, axles, clutch cable, motor mount adapters/brackets... There is another 10-15k right there. I am about to do a k24a2 gt3582r in a 2004 rx8. I figure if I spend wisely and shop carefully I can do the entire build (traded 2 amps and a sub for the rx8) for under 10k. Granted it will only be around 500-700 whp but I just can't see spending a lot of money where you did for a turbo car. N/A...you have to pay to play...that is a fact! Cams? Any valve headwork? A lot of what you did I will do but honestly at around half the cost. I am stuck on sleeves. This is a pretty big expenditure and I am seeing some stock bottom end k24's doing 700 whp. I do plan on upgrading pistons and rods. Do you think that building this engine at this level is worth the financial investment. I mean to say... you can get around 700hp for less than half of what you spent. I really would like to know your opinion. If it was money coming out of your pocket how far would you have gone in the build? Thanks
