⁠@@Theangrymailmanhey I got a question. Do you think someone like me could do this job? I use hand controls and recently got my license. I use crutches. A lot of houses have their mailbox close to the street and we have to open up the Mail and just put the Mail in. But I’m sure I can walk a few feet for the ones that have their mailbox close to their house. I think I would love this job as it is outdoor and I’m an introvert so don’t really have to talk to people. I have seen some people who have got their trucking license despite no leg use.

@@michaelhallier4300 if you worked 16 OT hours a week for 52 weeks that will get you to about 120K. If you get to 130K you’re probably not putting anything into your TSP account. Bad mistake.

I'm a rural carrier, my base pay salary is $85k/year and that's 5 days a week. If you get overtime (off-days, Sundays, helping other routes during the week) you can very easily get past $100k. My gross pay a couple years ago was $104k.

Thanks for making this video man. I’m currently in manufacturing at $33/hour. Took 5 years employed to get to top pay but I’m tired of automotive assembly line. How long does it take to get to top pay rate with USPS?

Right now it 12 years for carriers which is far to long. BUT, we are currently in contract negotiations and that should change. Talk is much shorter time to max out. But won’t know for sure until the contract comes out in the next few months.

I work two jobs currently I work 6 days per week at the post office and 4 nights per week are 12 hr shifts and come back and do the same thing all over again. It’s nice having so much money but I’ve only been doing it for around 5 months now and I’m getting a little tired, but in this economy I can’t afford not to I have a wife and a 1 yr old son I have to take care of. I’m currently a ptf and the money I’d getting better at the post office, even though I make more at my other job per hour than even with my 22.13 at the PO … Shame right

For a new City Carrier, you're looking more like $60 - 70k max, working 60 hours a week. That's 10 hours every day for six days. You can make a bit more delivering Amazon packages on Sunday, but that's like working every day. That is some serious grind. If you don't have a family, that's all good, but if you do, that's rough.

A career carrier is guaranteed 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week. However, for the next month since it’s peak, probably 60 hours a week until new years.

I make 19.33 an hour as a CCA. I generally work 7 days on, 1 day off. They would work me more, but policy won't let them because the accident rate with CCAs becomes too high. 10 hour day is generally the norm, 12+ hour days are not uncommon., but sometimes I get kicked out early because management wants to cut OT. I will be lucky if I hit 60k this year.

You get all Federal Holidays (11 paid days) off, a pension AND social security when you retire. Even if you save nothing, you'll be getting checks in the mail.
