I was born and raised in Indy. I am in NC. I want to come back. It looks even better than it was when I was there. Its always been great. In all my travels from coast to coast its still the best city I have ever been in.

Indy is a really cool place. Where are you in NC?
@sjtanman2 жыл бұрын
I base it on price per square foot in house cost. In my Neighborhood CPSF is $850 to $1050. In Indian I believe it's $80 to maybe $200 per foot. That's huge. So a 3500 Sq ft house in Indiana would be $700k that same house in my city would be $2,975,000..

@@LivingInIndianapolis We are in Hong Kong now, about to get our green cards next year and looking for a big city for our retirement and colleges for our 2 kids. WIll not consider NYC, LA or SF etc. the living costs are too high and got too many social problems. I particularly like the weather I don't mind cold winters just cannot stand the moist heat like in Houston. I'm thinking about Plainfield (it has a big shopping center and close to the airport). Will you do a video on that? Very much appreciated ☺

I assume auto and car rental is cheap as well. I live in Harris county Texas (Houston) and insurance home and auto is very expensive due to the flooding and hurricanes.
@LivingInIndianapolis4 жыл бұрын
Yeah... I'm sure it's cheaper here. Other than tornadoes (which are exceptionally rare and very local when they hit) we do get some nasty hail each year in pockets. No hurricanes though. Just the leftover rain when the system makes its way here.

It's cheap in Indianapolis, but most people would not live there if they had a choice. I spent time there in the early 70's was so glad to move to Pittsburgh in 1975. Indianapolis has God awful mass transit.
@LivingInIndianapolis4 жыл бұрын
It's certainly true the mass transit in Indy is severely lacking. But, Indy has grown up a lot in other aspects since the 70's. Plenty of good happening here. However, Pittsburgh has a lot going for it as well. Good place...

Apartment rates near downtown are outrageous. $1000 month for a studio is on par with Chicago and decent parts of New York. Public transportation is a disgrace and the Republican politicians don't want to invest in infrastructure.

@@mbmaccin555555 well I live near Chicago and it is true that u can get studio apartments on the northside for a little over 1k easily. So compared to Chi, that is a bit overpriced for Indy. You'd actually save a lot more money living in Chicago because there's no need for a vehicle and overpriced gas and car insurance and everything is in such close proximity. Chicago also being in the midwest, you'd be surprised the cost of living is far cheaper than other massive/high density cities in the US.
