@@pinoytunes7707 street food different he said mid restaurant. Yes on the street a mr liempo or a 4a or tik la tok you can get a rotisserie chicken for 300 peso they are small though. Restaurant here in mactan bbq pork skewers for 2 and a side of rice is 230 pesos. However. I am 188cm 80kilo. To me that is a appetizer. On street you can get burger for 60 peso. In a okay restaurant its 350 peso. Add 60-100 peso for a soda. And a halo halo for desert your looking at 500 plus peso. My last two meals have been. I just ordered from a restaurant buttered chicken 250 peso. Coke zero 60 peso 4 piece lumpia shanghai 160 peso in a cafe here in mactan as i write this. Which is 8.24 usd right now. People keep bringing up street food the chances of a foreigner eating that is rare we don’t have the same gut microbes native born have here. I gotten sick many times here eating cheap street food. I now stick to low end to mid cafes. What this guy said and i spend 6-10 80% of the time. So to me its not fake news the Philippines isnt cheap any more you guys are having record inflation as well.

Guys, live within your means. If you're on minimum wage, don't eat at mid-range restaurants or ride taxis. There are options that are MUCH CHEAPER, and why are you spending $100 a week on groceries? That's too much for 1 person earning low wages. I can afford a lot more than that but rarely spend that much on groceries. The median salary is pretty good for middle class lifestyle. We all start out with low wages but it gets better.

ok bassically this is like accurate if u want to live like the same life u would normally do if u had slightly alittle more than a decent amount of money. if u want a meal to survive? probably abt 2-3 dollars tops with just free service water If u want a big meal probably yeah i guess his prices are right. ok next up groceries they depend on how many u and ur family are but if its just u then Probably at most probably less than 20 dollars as all u probably need is water some quick to eat food that is not too expensive. okayy for transportation if u plan to live here like from another country i guess u would be going to place to place but that would only be abt 2 dollars to get a 1hr trip on a jeepny or probably even less but the thing is i dont think u would travel alot in the philippines if u were to stay here like just pick a good spot and you’ll be paying a dollar a day or so for transportation but this man is talking about taxi and busses and yes i can agree his prices are very right for those we mostly use those for very long trips and they are for people who actually have money to pay. About the work wages Avarege Filipino's usually earn about 300 dollars which is more thane enough to pay for the necessary stuff. Bassically it is very cheap here if u are ok with not living a sort of luxurious life here. Dont take this wrongly im just trying to provide the information i know, and im not contradicting this guy.

There is a saying, "a cow from this side thinking the grass over that side looks greener, but once take the struggles reach there than the brainless cow realized that the grass overthere is similar ". Many Filipinos think that everything going to be ok at abroad but failed to realize the cost of living there and the amounts of money they paid as fee to go there, will take ages to cover up. Only thing they get job but work like a donkey and pay the tax and sacrifices of leaving the loved ones or elderly patients. Look at there millions of people still living happily with good life in the Philippines. And i personally saw many living reasonably luxury life too. Im not talking about those lazy people who don't work but wants to live like others. To me the Filipinos who still managing thier life well and living a quality life with surrounded by family members and friends in the province of the Philippines are the MOST blessed filipinas and filipinos. Those who run to abroad thinking to live a better life, are the failures. As they are failed to manage in thier own country which has many natural resources and many hidden opportunities.

People in the comments here stating this information is "inaccurate" need to go out and touch some grass. It's getting expensive as hell here. 2000 PHP will NOT even last you a week of groceries, more so 4000 PHP which used to be enough for 2 1/2 weeks. So given how prices are inflating nowadays, where are y'all commenting about "inaccuracies" looking at, expecting things here to cost less than what this guy has stated in the video? EDIT: The lesson here is to live within your current means of living. But sometimes, none of us have a choice. And there are cities here that are not just BGC, either. I live in the southside of NCR, and yes it's also expensive here.

If you are willing to live in the provinces in the Philippines, you will be able to do well living frugally. Remember though, you do not have amenities of the city. That is the tradeoff. If you are an expat with a pension of $5,000 a month, you can live at BGC and live the good life. The exchange rate favors you.

People forget wages higher abroad but also the housing and food is more. In California many have jobs but living in there cars because the rent is so high. You better make a lot more than minimum wage in California especially near the big cities

many but not all. There are lots of local conpanies that pay nice salaries here in PH. I know cause I work for one. earning 200k from a local company here. software engineer and work from home for life. I only work like 3 hours a day 😂. PH is a dreamland compared to usa if you know your niche. my total cost of living in bgc is just 50k a month that includes everything. Looking for a second company then I can easyly double my income or triple it. PH is a dreamland I tell ya

Living abroad depending where you're at I wouldn't recommend Coming to America because it's worse here like I paid $1,300 a month for rent not only that my job cut my hours so I can't work overtime to really have money for myself and with inflation is even more worse so the Philippines may not be bad. I know inflation is hurting us but stay strong that's all I have to really say on that matter because it's the same everywhere but America is worse that's just my opinion

Living in NYC minimum wage of $12-$20 paying two taxes yearly and having rent $800/month and every meal is $12 ... As a Filipino, yall need to be educated that living in America isn't the dream. It's not glamorous and it's always better in the Philippines. It's just the mentality heavily influenced by things you see online or in movies that doesn't translate irl

If you are a minimum wage worker, you only eat about 1 and a half $ or less a meal. No one will eat around $6 if you cant afford it. Lol

Hello? These prices are so different. Living here isn't as bad as you guys thought. It is true that some people wanted to work abroad. But, if you allocate your money properly, especially living by yourself you can save a lot of money. Also, we only eat on restaurants if there are events and holidays, because we cooked our own food at home.

Inflation is sky high in the US. Much more than the Philippines. It is healthcare that is the biggest concern. You have to get private insurance costing $500 a month or 27,500 pesos a month.
@MrMatipid
@MrMatipid 5 ай бұрын
That $500 per month is in the Philippines. The biggest advantage is the exchange rate of 55 pesos to $1. That is why expats say, it is very cheap in the Philippines.

@@valarmorghulis8139 there a lot of good hard working people in the Philippines. However, there always been political and business corruption that's well established and entrench.... It's going to be very hard to root out this problem, perhaps it's not possible considering that's the elite benefits from it. This is the main issue in the Philippines why normal working people continue to be poor

Maybe when you stay in the Philippines like a year or two, you can live even just a dollar, just find the right place where to find and ask for cheaper restaurants we call it “turo-turo” or “point-point” in english…$6-$10 dollars is way too high and extravagant..

Income inequality is the main issue and this is the reason why Filipinos work abroad. Ok, let’s put it into perspective that in 2028 all mega infrastructures are done, is it going to provide decent paying jobs to Filipinos? While foreigners enjoy the brand new high rise properties? It is still a sad reality. Cheaper for foreigners, but expensive for Filipinos. I have been living here in the USA for 32 years and every time I ask them when they get back here to USA, “ how’s traffic in Manila?” They will say horrendous! Ok thanks!
