This is high value content ❤ What I've learned. 1. Never ever ever invest in a house in land you will never own and can/will be snatched from you by a Woman scorned. There are three guarantees in life. A. Death B. Taxes C. Woman Scorned (or some other family member). Doesn't even have to be her though. 2. Don't ever date a girl less than 25 year's old or the family will use that to accuse you of rape and take whatever assets you have by firtue of the courts, who will always always always side with a Filipina plaintiff. 3. Never ever ever ever date a single Mother with children. You will end up in jail for babysitting if/when the Ex, or even a neighbor shows up to accuse you of being a pedophile. And that is obviously a method locals will use to shake you down for money. The Philippines does not have good laws.

I was visiting my brother in Angeles City (yeah I know) and I was staying at the Pacific Breeze (great, inexpensive, great staff and clean rooms). The staff at the doors were quite vigilant on keeping out minors. If a guy came back from a bar and the girl he was with didn’t pass muster, she was denied access. They also checked that you were ok when someone had visited you (even my other brother - we were there for my brother’s birthday. They also checked in on me when I got an in room massage). The take on this is that be careful when dealing with minors - a good rule to follow for all.

Regarding being alone with a child. I was standing outside a wet market in Kidapawan City a few years ago with my girlfriends son, while she was inside. A short while after, I was surrounded by police with the senior officer quizzing me about the boy. I explained everything, and we chatted until my gf arrived. All ended well, and I complemented them for doing their job ... 😁

Sounds like it's really no different than the west asides from the fact it's more obvious one isn't the father... I had a gf with kids here in the west and I got weird looks if I had to look after them alone... luckily her kids thought I was cool so if anyone ever asked them if they were OK they'd say yeah they were being looked after by their moms bf... had one crazy mother almost 'abduct' the 7 year old cuz she was convinced I had kidnapped them and taken them to the park... I had to demand she release the 7 year old who then ran over kinda crying and freaked out to me... and when the mother saw the kids reaction she started apologizing... I just asked her to leave us alone at that point as the kids were freaked out... I get it... I don't look like 'a dad' but yeah... idk if even in the west I'd want to take care of a gfs kids alone in public again... it'd be one thing just making sure they are fed watered and entertained at home but I suspect there is often family that helps in that sense... cousins, grandma, sisters, mom...

Marriage is supposed to be a special, sacred thing where two people become one and share everything by creating a new family whether kids are involved or not. The Law is hijacking traditional marriage and making a fortune off it's demise, which is making people afraid to sign up for the state license to marry.

@vikingrogaland2844
@vikingrogaland2844 2 жыл бұрын
You are totally right man! Who gave the Government the right to hold this imaginary power to sanction a couple who loves each other and wants to spend their life together as a married one? The Chatolic Church first hijacked marriage, and even made it a "Sacrament". People of faith especially want to do the correct and moral thing because they fear God. But the Vatican or the Federal government has no right or sanction from holy Scriptures to do so. I once met a Baptist pastor in Cebu, who had come from Manila to conduct a marriage cerenmony between an American man and a Cebuano lady. They wanted to have a real marriage, sanctioned by their families and God. No documents involved, at least not from the Government. This pastor said that when the Catholic religion came to these islands, they hijacked the traditional marriage. When the men of God back in the Old Testament married, they did not ask for a marriage licence from the king. Many of them even had several wifes and concubines. Yet the Bible claim that they were righteous and pious before God. And considering how many of those people in high offices are Freemasons, corrupted and straight forward evil by nature, how would their blessings be something pleasing to God? Me, for instance, followed the rules, but still I got dumped, and ended up as a fincancial slave and lost all contact with my 5 children there, until this day. This situation is the main cause of death by suicide in many countries. Fact is that if you are living as a husband and wife, it can be classified as a Common Law marriage, totally acceptable through history. And most countries in the West will accept you, even without a marriage document, if you can prove you lived together for at least a couple of years. If you have a child together, you basically have the same rights as a couple who got the correct papers - in Western countries. In the province way down South in Mindanao, where my wife comes from, almost nobody there are legally married. The Vatican has a very weak presence there, thankfully. But still everybody consider such a couple as a true family. If you would like to get "legally" married, I agree that you should wait until you have been together for a long time first. Especially in a country like the Philippiines. You could have a traditional wedding, though, ignoring the Political institutions.

I posted a comment about the endemic corruption in the Philippines but I notice that the lovely Filipino Pea has deleted it! Getting near the bone was I? In the UK where I live "ANYONE" from anywhere in the world can buy a property and own the land as long as they have UK documentation! So there's a lot of double standards going on! I also pointed out the the illegal funds that the Marcos family stole 30 years ago ($10,000,000,000!) if you want to know! Has had a devastating effect on the Philippine economy! But, the ever so rotten, corrupt Imelda has been spending her ill gotten gains on greasing the palms of the current administration in an attempt to repair their damaged reputation AND it's working! Two of Imelda's offspring are rumored to be poised to make a play for the high office! What's more sickening is that the current President (Rodrigo Roa Duterte) is a supporter of the Marcos family!!! So, no the Philippines country is rotten to the core! This is why the infrastructure of the country is so poor at the moment! The funds to renovate it years ago were stolen, and it was covered up! By the greasy monkeys who had been bribed by the Marcos family! It is no wonder that the people have to adopt merciless tactics with foreigners to get money to live! Unless you can afford a crack team of security guys I'd give the Island a pass! Just saying......!

@@wolfengod8277 It's not at any given moment in the USA. That is different than not ever having your name on land to lose but only "owning" the structure with someone completely different owning the land beneath. I agree that one never really truly "owns" anything as it's always subject to some law or otherwise. So i look at it is you really never "own" it way before it can be taken. I would need to make sure that all major assets are purchased before we cohabit together or just do not cohabit together. There are just so many legal things to be concerned about. After listening to these laws, I am basically not going to consider cohabiting in the Phillipines but just live there to enjoy the nice life there and in a very good area.

The reason why some men mistakenly think that their spouse would get 50% of everything they own is that they mistakenly assumed the Philippines works the same way as their country. In the United States, many states are "community property" states and if you are married, everything is owned jointly, including assets and debts. Some states exclude debts from prior to the marriage, but most don't. So they are afraid because they are familiar with how it works in their country.

I am Married to a Filipino woman who I love very much. We have a 4 year old Daughter together who was made in the UK and born in the Philippines, we bought land and built a house in both our married names, I still have my house in UK, but even if our relationship breaks up, which I hope it will not, I will know my Daughter and Wife will have a lovely house to live in, and if I lose the property so what, I would be upset more from a relationship break up, because if you have a wife and raise children, as a man you should provide for them, period.

Thanks Gracie and Pea for clearing up that you don't have to be legally married to be alone in the company of your partner's child. Even if you AREN'T related by law or familial bond, it still has to be proven that it's "under circumstances which would lead a reasonable person to believe that the child is about to be exploited in prostitution and other sexual abuse." (Republic Act 7610, ARTICLE III, Sec. 6). Common sense prevails!
@almoemason

Actually Ben, that's not what she said. The child in the discussion was not the girl friend's child, The mom was the girlfriend, The child's mother was the girlfriend's daughter who was living in the same house of the girlfriend. If it is just you and your girlfriend living together, it would not be ok for you to be alone with a child under 12 or a child under 18 that was ten years younger than you.

"you will not get into trouble as long as you're doing nothing wrong" with a child. That really isn't true. As men have learned in the US if a child is mad at the man for being strict, not buying them something, etc... and the child decides to accuse the man of doing something wrong the mother is likely to believe the child and the man is off to prison. Actually doing nothing wrong is no defense. And the way human memory works the mother may actually "fill in" with false memories. I agree the written law and how common it is to have any effect are two different things. But males worldwide are generally at a disadvantaged when standing in front of police or a judge. Foreigners in other countries are at even more disadvantage. There are risks. A man would be wise to understand the law and protect themselves up front. There are a lot of men living in a fantasy world of protection.

Thank Pea and Gracie for clearing up so many matters today. It is difficult from Austraila to understand our own laws let alone those in the Phillipines. I hope to travel there again and look for a place to settle one day and getting involved with a partner knowing the law is a must. Having a girlfriend for some time from Thailand and living with her in Australia for a year until the visa expired ended well without legal separation issues and we are just friends now both moving on with our lives. The lessons learned today is to seek legal advice and from previous videos will avoid in any case married or single mums for sure. Thank you both for sharing this today and best wishes from Melbourne.

I would have thought that if you were arrested you would contact your countries embassy for legal advise? Men are afraid because we have been burnt in our own countries by women taking us to court after a relationship ends and walking away with 75% of everything you worked your whole life for. The woman doesn't have to start their life over again, they have most of the money, the poor guy has to keep working until he's 80 years old to try and re establish himself again I think that's is why men seem to make a big deal out of the cohabitation situation.

Prisons are some of the worst nightmares, and I feel so sorry for guys who are behind bars (been there, done that, both in Norway and in Thailand...). The problem is that sometimes innocent people are thrown into prison. I remember back in February 2011: a 49 years old Norwegian man who came to visit his GF in Cebu, was arrested, accused of abducting and killing a 6 years old school girl south of Cebu city. Even if he could prove that he was in fact visiting a language class with his fiancee at the time of the crime and then , they were cheking in at the reception area of Waterfront Lahug Hotel - all recorded by the in house security camera - he was still treated as scum. I remember reading that the police officer in charge, stated: "I am morally convinced that we have caught the guilty person." Only after the governor of Cebu realized the terrible mistakes done by the local police, he was released, and the police chief was fired. I was in the jungle in the top of Cebu staying with my fiance there at the time of the abduction. Not really so far away from the crime scene. It might as well have been me who could have been arrested, as also I fit the description given by a pimp in Carcar town. Later it turned out that the pimp was lying, and he just made up a story for the police, giving them hints about the looks of the foreigner, because he hoped he could get some reward money. He had never met the white person whom he claimed was one of his customers. If I had been arrested, since I had no strong alibi like security cam in a hotel, I might have rotten in filipino jail. Later, a British man was accused for the crime, but until this day, I don't think the case has been solved.

Pea, I greatly appreciate the info and thanks to Gracie for her clarifications. However, many of us have witnessed the insanity of the legal system and it's prejudice towards men in divorce proceedings or other court cases. I've been in court many times and have seen some pretty sketchy shenanigans. And that's in the USA where we have rights. We're unprotected in the Philippines. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." (no "baggage" here) Also, consider the potential of lawyers advertising a commission in lieu of fees in common-law marriage cases since the Filipinas have 10x more clout than the Americans. Gracie talks as if it's Fair & Just but many other KZbinrs contend that the Americans are often blamed. My response to all this is not to overreact but to be very very careful.

You both handled this really professionally. Some of these questions were flat uncomfortable to hear. Good to know I guess. The land stuff is certainly insightful.

I am glad that you straightened out the cohabitation thing. I have always planned to leave my house cars and most of my money in the United States, money that I bring to the Philippines will be expendable

I have heard from other sources that this is indeed the way. The red tape that you would have to jump through just to open an account in PI makes me shudder.

Extremely well presented practical guide, thank you Pea and Gracey. Clear, to the point, efficient. To resume : Life is always beautiful, don’t spoil it! Use common sense and be a gentleman, but above all, do love, respect and care for your Filipina. The Philippines and the Filipinas are the most beautiful in the world : be worthy of them! 😊❤️ 🇵🇭

Thanks Pea, and Gracie. I'm heading to Dumaguete in December 2022 for christmas. I will be on my best behavior, but it is always a good idea, to get some insight into local laws. Here in the USA, they don't cut you any slack if you didn't realize you were breaking the law, and I'm pretty sure its like that everywhere. Ms. Gracie, Hopefully, you wont hear from me while I'm on vacation, but I will keep your contact info on my phone just in case. Thanks again Pea, and Gracie.👍
