Great video. I have to say that I'm amazed how many people these days want DSG boxes. One of the things I love about my wifes S1 is the manual gearbox. I guess if I was in load of start stop traffic I may go down the DSG route...but I love the fact that the S1 is a manual. I drive a Macan S with a PDK gearbox...better than the VW DSG boxes but still not a patch on a manual. I love the fact that you can pull out of a junction in the S1 and know exactly where you are...in my wifes previous Fabia VRS...it was either pensioner slow or spinning its wheels...a dangerous combination. I would have happily paid extra in the Mecan for a manual box.

Servicing is not ruinous from the independent, then. And under £500 for 4 tyres isn't bad. The fuel economy isn't too bad if you can achieve 40mpg, but it's never going to be brilliant, is it?

i have an s1 and i seem to be getting between 15- 18 mpg in town and 27-35 on the motorway....

GOOD CAR?!!!! with that prices this can be a good one. i do not spend 1000 for service for my C class AMG Edition which it is not a good car!! it is a LOVELY car.

He would need to burn through ~25 litres of fuel to do 40 miles - it's literally impossible with that engine, maybe if he drove it uphill in first all the time, but even then it doesn't sound correct.

gambiting. This is not ecotec motor which grandpa drives church. Many cold start take more gasoline...
