Intamin is the only one who really uses the term, so what classifies as a mega coaster varies. Intamin calls its hyper coasters megas too.

It is just how to see it, some people consider a mega coaster is a coaster type for coasters of 150-200ft although that opinion is not shared by many. For me a giga is ANY coaster from 300 to 400ft, because of the same reason Flash (that Mack mega somewhere in asia) is a hyper (It inverts which is not standard for hypers) It is just how someone sees it

Bas Most people won't consider a launched coaster between 300 and 400 to be a Giga. I think a lot of people agree that hyper and giga depend solely on the height of the lift hill, even though technically a hyper has more qualifications. Like if Alpengeist was 5 feet taller people would consider it a hyper regardless, but note how wicked twister isn't a hyper, cuz not full circuit and it's launched. The only flaw is that most people don't consider the 3 dive coasters in NA to be hypers
