How Much For This Modern 3 Bedroom House In THAILAND ? ┃ Ordering Food With No MSG In THAI.

Today we look at a modern 3 bedroom house in Thailand for sale and I try to order food with no msg in a Thai restaurant. Situated on the outskirts of Tak town this newly built property in North Thailand is a modern compact design, with 3 good sized bedrooms and a decent sized land plot. Prices have gone up steeply here, so did you guess right ? After the viewing I test my Thai skills by ordering food with no Monosodium glutamate (MSG). Many people, locals and foreigners alike have issues with this food additive so it can be a very useful phrase to know. Useful links below.

I can translate pong shorot, (no equivalent in West) this is a sauce with a lot of a taste exaucer ( Monosodium glutamate (E621)) this is not well for your helty. Looks very good & it is very rare in Thailand to see electrical outlets down near the floor like the rest of the world. So that was a nice touch. I would have guessed 1.9 million Baht given a few homes we looked at in Chiang Mai in November. I know Thai's often don't lower prices but I think this coming year will see a lot of financial pain everywhere & prices may drop even there

James. I can relate about MSG, any amount gives me what is called PVCs of the heart. So yeah I always stay away from it or make sure they can hold back on using it as a special order. Keep up the good videos.

Our initial budget has gone up a bit & I expect it to go higher still. We’re only at the stage of installing the roof. Regarding msg I guess not everyone can tolerate it & unfortunately you can’t. prices of building materials have gone up with inflation. but at least for americans, the usd went up as much in relation to the baht. not so much for europeans unfortunately. i built a house in thailand two years ago. probably would end up paying the same if i did it now. good you are back. i missed your videos.

Interesting video ... cheers. In my experience...the scenic land around Chiang Mai is going up steadily and build costs to. After seeing 50%-100% rises in Mae-On land the past 2-3 years... it now looks like the scenic land around Doi Saket & San Kampaeng are now going up & up in price.

Chiang Mai is a straight up rip off now. Many places in America I can find cheaper land now. 2.5 million baht per rai anywhere around Mae Jo where I live and not especially nice even.

You need to give m2 of land and m2 of the house. 3 years ago (before Corona BS) I budget the construction of a house as 10,000 baht / m2 if you buy the materials and project manage the project (on site every day and all day) and 15,000 baht / m2 if you get a builder in to build and supply materials from plans.

New studies have come out that prove MSG is safe for consumption. However, some people have allergic reactions to MSG. My mother, who is Thai, is one of them. Personally, I don't use MSG in my cooking. I feel that it's a cheat to making your dishes more tasty.

Nice to see you back mate. The house was nice but like most "projects" in Thailand, incredibly tight in that there is hardly enough garden to grow a sprig of coriander on and you can be certain there will soon be houses across the road. Not sure about the objection to MSG as it is a very natural source of umami even found naturally in things like cheese, tomatoes etc. I have eaten loads of it for years and as no scientific study has ever found it to be harmful, apart from one where they fed stupidly large amounts of it to lab rats, I think it is fair to say it is safer than many other things consumed in large quantities. That said, I absolutely respect your choice to avoid it. You need to ask to have the food without it pretty much every time you eat though, as it is used in almost everything even stuff "cooked to order" like Pad Kaprao and not just in soups. We ran a Thai restaurant for years and we bought it by the sack! 😨👍
