3:16 - Your math is wrong. A tonne is not a ton. A metric tonne is 1.10 US tons. You have selected US tons, not metric tonnes. 1 tonne of gold is not 29166 troy ounces, it is 32150 troy ounces. Your 52.5 million dollar figure would be 57.9 million. Per tonne. 11,877,123,060,00 ..... almost 12 trillion.

Your estimation would make an allocation of about 1,348 ounces of gold per person in the world. I recall reading somewhere that only about 12%-15% (let's call that 52 million people) of the US population had more than an ounce of gold and 10 ounces of silver. I think of that 12%-15% of the population, it is likely that 50%-60% (about 25 million people) of those have over 10 ounces of gold. Based on my circle of friends, these numbers are about right. - I have about 100 close associates, and of that, less than 20 claim to own any bullion. (of course, they may not be willing to share the truth). Of those 15-20 people, I only know about 9 people that admit to having more than 10 ounces of gold. Of course, this does not count jewelry, which nearly all households have. (Lots of 10k-18k rings, necklaces, etc floating around) Some countries, like India and Sri Lanka have 3-4 times the jewelry holdings that US households have. (It is one of their safe-havens for their surplus cash, plus they view it as adornments and body decorations so they like to own lots of it) If your estimations are correct, then there would be quite a bit of gold in government (or institutional) holdings. (which seems very likely) Myself, I have a target of 30 ounces of gold and 2000oz of silver. (We have a modest income, under $100k per year now, so these metal suggestions for me works out to be about a year's wages to cover us for any of life's severe oh-oh moments. - And of course, I always preach to people to have enough cash in the bank to cover all of their expenses for 6 months before they ever buy their first ounce of metals......Otherwise, you may find yourself having to sell them when prices are down to cover those unexpected life's costs. So ultimately, if you can reach 18 months of liquid funding (combined cash and metals) then you should be well positioned to look for more aggressive places to put your excess/surplus cash. (The older I get though, the less willing I am to put more than 5% of my holdings in to stocks and crypto, simply because my earning potential is very limited now, and replacing bad investments would likely take more time than I have to live... 🤣)

Compared to common metals gold is pretty rare. Iron is a estimated 85 billion tones ever mined, copper 33 million tons etc

When you think about the $10T market cap in relation to other assets, there is alot of upside. Think about Real Estate at $270T (Res, Comm, AG) and Total WW Debt at $253T with Gold, Silver, Bitcoin and Ethereum totaling ~$11.5T, they all seem to be cheap and the assets to have. And add to that, I don't think for a minute the USA has the gold they say they do or they would be willing to audit it. The mystery is worth alot more leverage in the world than the actual number.
