I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse. Many struggle to save due to low wages, rising prices, and exorbitant rents. With homeownership becoming unattainable for middle-class Americans, they may not have a home to rely on for retirement either.

Consider buying stocks when the economy is not doing well, like during a recession. It could be a chance to buy them at a lower price and sell later when prices go up. Just keep in mind, this isn't financial advice, but sometimes it's better than keeping a lot of cash.

Accurate asset allocation is crucial. Some use hedging or defensive assets in their portfolio for market downturns. Seeking financial advice is vital. This approach has kept me financially secure for over five years, with a return on investment of nearly $1 million.

I was able to spot the main difference between her job and my job. When I put in the extra hours, my paycheck looks the same. When she puts in the extra hours, her paycheck increases. I'm the type of person who will work extremely hard if the benefits scale with my work. It's the reason why I'm increasingly losing interest in my job and making plans to get my own business up and running this year. The other day my manager told me I didn't seem enthusiastic about work. Oh the things I wanted to say in that moment but didn't. It's time to switch jobs.

I started in my early 20s investing in myself and began to save as much as possible. At the age of 16 and until the age of 28 I work two or three jobs and was able to obtained my four year degree in a mere 4.5 years @ the age of 23. After graduation still continued to work a full time job, while working a part time. Began investing in the real estate market at the age of 26. Now at the age of 32, I have several real estate under my name. Also, thankfully I have obtain a few sport / and other vehicles paid off. I am now in sales in the HVAC industry and never turned back. My net worth is above the 2 million mark now. I am not here to boast, but to let everyone one know that hard-work really pays off although this may sound cliche. 🙏

Great video! Had no clue about the income tracking website. Thank you for that. So cool! Been in the security industry for the last 10years. Started in armed security at local church, moved into security management for Charles Schwab and CyrusOne data centers, then moved into selling commercial security straight commission. Security management is great and on track to make 90k gross the third year, but hated punching a clock and not having a say in how much I make. First year sales was a rough start at 36k since I had never done sales. But found the groove and doubled the earnings at 75k net for my second year. For no base and straight commish, only 25k off my goal of 100k. If I keep the same traction going into 2023, 100k looks like a breeze. 🤞🏽💰💯🔥 Sales is a great way to increase overall income if u can handle the hustle!

I love the idea that we should all share our pay. However, this doesn’t work everywhere. In my first job temping in a recruitment agency, we got into an issue where a client of ours had to fire the contract staff we placed at the company two weeks after he started with them. Reason being, the guy had shared his salary with his new colleagues and his entire department then asked for a pay raise. The company had actually budgeted higher for his pay because he wasn’t getting benefits (which also costs our client) that the full time staff were given. End of the day, the guy that shared his salary was fired and the rest of the full time staff got the raise they want but no additional headcount (so everyone has to work more to ‘justify’ their higher pay). We did try to place that guy in another job later on, but he got a better offer from a different recruitment agency. For context though, I’m in Singapore where there is virtually no worker protection since we are all not allowed to go on strikes or riots. So the action of sharing his pay, was viewed as misconduct (which did lead to mutiny of sorts within the department). If you go to Singapore’s MOM website, that is valid grounds for dismissal and he wouldn’t have been able to contest that. This was also in 2008, where most people would be happy just having a job to stay on.

Thanks for sharing. Sales is certainly the source of big bucks. How was your pay in digital marketing compared to your co-workers- I mean, were your sales exceptional or most there were achieving similar rates? Was the work easier, same, or harder than your Wall St position?

Thank you for the transparency and not coming off like you’re bragging. This was so informative. I’ve been wondering how much I’ve made and have gone into social security. I recently started earning a somewhat livable salary ($50k) but I also live in NYC and sh!t is expensive so this income means very little. Working on obtaining a license for healthcare management to double that within a couple years. I’ve hit my 30s and have been studying up on things I should’ve learned over a decade ago but better late than never I guess. Thanks for all your advice!

I really enjoy your content Vivian. Thanks for all the great information. Any advice for someone who has arrived at age 60 and has only a small nest egg (say: 50k) to work with? …never managed to get on a truly prosper career track. 🤷🏻‍♀️
