Me and my partner knew we wanted children early in our relationship, we had a separate maternity savings account which we used to support my year off, we had saved enough to take my monthly wage from the savings account, we saved the maternity pay & it went into a savings account for that child. I did have a good maternity package too! We’re doing the same for baby number two!

Really knowledgable video with easily digestible chunks of important information. I also love the old school Harry Potter books in the background! 😊

Why is maternity leave so low in the UK, it’s terrible. Fingers crossed it will be alright

I've seen much more supportive systems from other countries, it's a shame it's how it is in the UK.

Not as bad as America. I cry when I see how little they get. Even if baby is premature x

Is it better to spread your OMP over the 52 week period? Do you pay less tax in total?

I’ve been on sick leave for 5 weeks and I’m due in September, I’m hoping to go back but I’m now worried about what my average earnings will be, currently my weekly earnings are £350 a week but where I was on sick pay my pay dropped to £300 for the month. Will I end up screwed if I end up needing to be off sick for longer

I spy Harry Potter books 📚 😂 Did you put money into savings on mat leave? What percentage is reasonable?
