If you don't take a risk, you will never know if you can succeed. I consider it a learning experience and yes, I'd count the $6000 from YT videos as camper profit, so you technically did succeed and learned a lot along the way (as did we!).💕

My thoughts- two years is a good time to make a decision of this sort. You circumstances dictated to sell. You were brave to do it. You did not overprice the unit. The number of sellers tells you that. However you sold at the decline of RV high dollars. So good work. Smart entrepreneur.

The transformation you did to the AgWagon was awe-inspiring. You dove in, worked so hard, and completely transformed it into something special. I know the memories and skills you gained will help you tremendously in the future. However, graciously accepting the reality that it isn’t profitable enough is so wise and will free up so much time, plus emotional and mental labor that you can put into other creative and financial pursuits. Looking forward to cheering you on as you put your drive and creativity into your duplex and whatever other endeavors you pursue!

I did a B&B for year and a half. It's not a get rich quick thing. Was hard work and stressful. I realised that long term tenant is almost zero work and if they pay rent and don't trash the unit, you'll do well. Great video!

I always think you need to save your sanity over anything else. If it was causing you to worry - even low level worry - it's probably not worth it. It's been so great to have an honest appraisal of this short stay business and to watch you put so much care and effort into crafting an experience for guests - most airbnb hosts don't! Maybe you have a potential new little venture as a camper/unique stay designer. Like someone else is doing the running but they pay you to come in and do the theme and decor and initial stocking of the place.

As soon as I saw the title of the video I knew that you had sold it. I was wondering what you were doing with that. Thanks for updating us. I'm sad to see it go but I think it was your best decision since you didn't have land. I also think you should have done more research on the price before you listed it. As you're thinking now I think you could have gotten more for it and still sold it quickly. I was concerned from the beginning because you didn't have land to put it on. I think you need to find the land before you do it again. The financial loss is not enough to really count as a loss (-203 or -3) with the skills and knowledge you gained. You learned a lot and you will tak what you learned into all your future endeavors. Overall, you did a great job even though this situation didn't work out for you.

Not surprised. We’ve never run an Airbnb camper business, but we used to buy old campers to use vs renting or buying new. We always lost some money, never a lot and it was always worth the experience. That seems to be the way of campers. If it was a fun experience and was in our budget we considered it a win.

Good for you for factoring in the non-monetary benefits that came from the experience. At the end of the day, it might be a financial wash but it feels like a successful experiment. I think two years, especially since the winter frost thing is an ongoing issue and it doesn't seem likely that in a year you just bought a duplex, you are also going to lay out money for land.

I watched the entire process as you posted the videos and I was very impressed with how hard you worked. I don't know how much those trailers cost so I can't really say if you sold it for a good price or a steal. As long as the number make sense to you, that is all that counts. i think both the journey and the content was worth it. It's sad but in a way it's satisfying to see the end of a project even when it's mediocre and actually realistic. It may seem like you spent so much time and effort that could have been monetized better, but that was an authentic experience and authentic content, which makes this channel still worth watching after literally a decade. The skills, knowlege and confidence you gained from doing Ag Wagon is paving the way for other projects, even in the way how it'd been pushing you to look for more real estate opportunities and always stay on top of the market

Storing would also have been fairly pricey oddly enough! Most covered spaces (necessary to protect it from rain and sun) big enough for a 22 foot camper wanted close to $200 a month! I found one that was like $120, but that still would have been a high expense bar to overcome with only having it out at football season or when i found land. Also stagnant trailers tend to age themselves quickly and can attract pests. I was willing to store it if it didn't sell, but that didn't end up being an issue! thanks for watching!

Good decision on your part. Unless you can park it in your land, it’s not cost effective. That said, I’ve stayed at a camper before on a cycling trip and love it!

I am sad to see the wagon go, you did such a stellar job on it. I would’ve personally lived in it for some years, and rented out both of your duplexes. I am sure the profit would’ve been greater. But congratulations on a new venture!

it was far too small for ft living for me, jacob and our three pups, but it was a cool space!

i was always surprised that with the lovely, low-stress rental income from the apartment next door, you even considered the Air B&B project. Then I saw how much fun you had renovating, thrifting for decor, and designing and executing the Ag Wagon. I feel it was the right thing at the right time, but now is not the time for high personal involvement in a low return on $$$ and sweat equity. Or do you have another out-there project in mind?

I'm a restless spirit when it comes to stuff like this, so I will almost absolutely take on another crazy project, build or home type eventually! I absolutely had a ton of fun and learned a lot from it. But you're 100% right in that I only have so many hours in the day and it was a time suck!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I feel that you did the right thing in selling it because you didn't have the solutions you needed and would keep losing money. Good decision.

I think you did really well in the end. You may have ended up with a lot more unexpected expenses if you had held onto it. Seeing as you are in a higher position at work now, it seems like a good time to have let go of the camper. I did not like what you had paid for it. I got one for $1000, but every area and sale is different. Considering that it increased video revenue and your skill set, regardless of the time you spent, it was a good ad/venture. You did a lot of work to the camper, and although it may have been a big ticket for the new owners, it was a win for you - even if you think it was underpriced. Everyone has different ideas and dreams for a camper, so hopefully you and the new owners will all realize yours.❤

I'm glad you sold it. Seems like a lot of work & expense for very little or no profit. But you will make it up with your new duplex.

Recommend heat tape on your pipes during winter months. Plus shut off valves on all plumbing connections, i.e. sinks, toilet.

Juar like you requested. I think you will put it on a lot next to your new duplex. To make it so convenient to turn over after the weekend and do your own cleaning to save that expense.

So afterthoughts, I love the AgWagon, you profited in your experience, those reviews rock, your decor and generosity reflect your kindness and love of your fellow human beings. I want you to find some land and make your tiny home compound come to life. Each unit with its own personality, separate but a community. Come on Sarah, get the land!!
