My thoughts- two years is a good time to make a decision of this sort. You circumstances dictated to sell. You were brave to do it. You did not overprice the unit. The number of sellers tells you that. However you sold at the decline of RV high dollars. So good work. Smart entrepreneur.

However, graciously accepting the reality that it isn’t profitable enough is so wise and will free up so much time, plus emotional and mental labor that you can put into other creative and financial pursuits. I always think you need to save your sanity over anything else. If it was causing you to worry - even low level worry - it's probably not worth it. It's been so great to have an honest appraisal of this short stay business and to watch you put so much care and effort into crafting an experience for guests - most airbnb hosts don't! Maybe you have a potential new little venture as a camper/unique stay designer. Like someone else is doing the running but they pay you to come in and do the theme and decor and initial stocking of the place.

As soon as I saw the title of the video I knew that you had sold it. I was wondering what you were doing with that. Thanks for updating us. I'm sad to see it go but I think it was your best decision since you didn't have land. I also think you should have done more research on the price before you listed it. As you're thinking now I think you could have gotten more for it and still sold it quickly. I was concerned from the beginning because you didn't have land to put it on. I think you need to find the land before you do it again. The financial loss is not enough to really count as a loss (-203 or -3) with the skills and knowledge you gained. You learned a lot and you will tak what you learned into all your future endeavors. Overall, you did a great job even though this situation didn't work out for you.

Not surprised. We’ve never run an Airbnb camper business, but we used to buy old campers to use vs renting or buying new. We always lost some money, never a lot and it was always worth the experience. That seems to be the way of campers. If it was a fun experience and was in our budget we considered it a win.

Good for you for factoring in the non-monetary benefits that came from the experience. At the end of the day, it might be a financial wash but it feels like a successful experiment. i think both the journey and the content was worth it. It's sad but in a way it's satisfying to see the end of a project even when it's mediocre and actually realistic. @BudgetGirl8 ай бұрын
Storing would also have been fairly pricey oddly enough! Most covered spaces (necessary to protect it from rain and sun) big enough for a 22 foot camper wanted close to $200 a month! I found one that was like $120, but that still would have been a high expense bar to overcome with only having it out at football season or when i found land. Also stagnant trailers tend to age themselves quickly and can attract pests. I was willing to store it if it didn't sell, but that didn't end up being an issue! thanks for watching!

I think you did really well in the end. You may have ended up with a lot more unexpected expenses if you had held onto it. Seeing as you are in a higher position at work now, it seems like a good time to have let go of the camper. I did not like what you had paid for it. I got one for $1000, but every area and sale is different. Considering that it increased video revenue and your skill set, regardless of the time you spent, it was a good ad/venture. You did a lot of work to the camper, and although it may have been a big ticket for the new owners, it was a win for you - even if you think it was underpriced. Everyone has different ideas and dreams for a camper, so hopefully you and the new owners will all realize yours.❤
