I worked in law enforcement not medical care. I was going “nuts” how much i was making as a senior employee ….mid $200k’s with overtime. I was working 7 days a week. I was “chasing money “ and wanted to work forever. I didn’t even want to date or be involved in any relationship thats distracted me from chasing the bag! But one day, just for my curiosity, i got an estimated yearly pension amount i would receive, and after i was given my yearly estimate i quickly decided to retire on the spot. I retired a few years ago at 50 years old with a pension just under $100k/year. I also get yearly cost of living raises each year. I made double my pension when i was working but the mental and physical stress wasn’t worth it when i can relax stress free with $100k a year. Its enough money for me

I Love watching money grow! Feels so good. I’m on my own, no second income person to help and I can still save. I keep a bill binder with those little clear sheets. I keep my bills on paper so I can reference any month anytime and I know exactly what’s due and when and what I paid and when. I’m paid the 10th and 25th. I sit and pay bills first. Then I pull the cash. I pay myself, into my savings. Then I put a small amount into birthday and christmas envelopes. This way I never have to come up with the money last minute. I put something every pay period. Each loved one has their own envelope and after 12 months, I have what I decided I wanted to spend. I never spend more. If I spend less, that ‘extra’ money goes to savings. I use only cash when possible if I need to make a purchase. I absolutely do not spend $1s $5s or $10s. Those go into a cigar box. If I don’t have a $20 or higher, I have no money. That’s it. It adds up very quickly. Friday nights are for takeout. That’s the only time it’s allowed. I pack food and my own filtered water. Yes, I’m too cheap to buy bottled water, not even from Costco. I don’t have cable. I do spend money to get my hair done every 6 weeks. Im not so cheap I don’t buy things. Im just tiny living and don’t need much. If you want to save, you will. You don’t have to cut out everything, you just have to decide if you really need it
@AccordingToTawanda Жыл бұрын
Rikawoo1 this type of discipline, and small sacrifices reap great rewards😊 I use cash envelopes as well. I plan to get back back on top of using cash this month. I don’t make nearly as much as you but I literally practice these same budgeting tactics each month. I have a white board in my home office where i write all the bills on, my projected income for the month and at the end of the month I write in my actual income for the month, along with what I saved and how much carry over I have. My life has never been more together when I started doing this. Even if something unexpected came up, I feel adequately prepared for it. It’s refreshing to see others benefiting from simply having and maintaining a budget.

I write down all of my monthly expenses and it is a good way to keep me focus on what I am actually spending my money on. I am like you, there are bills that I pay every month and the other bills my husband pays. If I want to treat myself to expensive makeup for that month, then I will work a couple of overtime shifts. But I personally feel it is necessary as a nurse since we "give, give and give" to people (patients, their family members, managers,etc) we need to give back to ourselves to refill that void. So, I will occasionally treat myself to expensive makeup. I hope what I am saying makes sense.

One easy way to make extra money is to work only weekends and nightshifts if your schedule and lifestyle permit. Many hospitals pay premium weekend shift and night shift differentials, you get paid more per hour without working more hours and very often these shifts are less busy and less stressful depending on the unit you work in.

One of the rural hospitals that I worked at paid their RNs 40 hours a week is they would work 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sundays. A number of nurses would commute in on Saturday from a local large city, rent a room Saturday night and head home after their shift on Sunday. That would allow them to stay at home with their children the rest of the week.

One of the top 5 ways to wealth is keeping a car as long as possible and channelling that money towards savings and retirement. Put 200-300 away a month that would be towards saving for your next car that way you can either pay in full (likely a used car but with low milage) or you can put a lot down and finance very little.

I Just found your channel I love that you are teaching people to be more responsible with their money. There are many different approaches on how to manage your finances but the main thing is that you become aware that managing your finances is key. Most people just go through life unaware of the what they are giving to others each time they make a financial transaction. For most people, their paycheck will be the only means by which they will become financially independent. If you don’t get that right you will be struggling til death. God Bless!

I’ve been a registered nurse since 1996, this is nowhere near what a new nurse makes out of school. Where you work has a lot to do with how much your paid. Agency nurses are typically very experienced and quite often get the worst assignments because the regular nursing staff is not compensated in the same fashion. Know that nursing has usually been a profession that catapults it’s nurses into a higher socioeconomic ladder. However, it very often comes at a high price. It is grueling work with horrible hours. Usually set in a depressing setting. Maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle is next to impossible. You’re almost never caught up on your workload and doctors, administrators, patients and their families are not going to cut you a break. The truth of the matter is if I sound bitter, I’m not. I was fortunate enough to get out of the profession when Covid started. If your still interested in becoming an RN, please do yourself a favor and count how many happy nurses you spot in the hospital, good luck.

Yeah... this channel makes absolutely no sense... 6fig income off working 3 days per week? No dude that's what part-time APPs make. And new nurses on average start out around $20-25/hr. I am not in that field but do have to work with people. I calculate you make 99.00 per hour. I am at 85.00 per day. But I am single and work only four days a week. Deposit pays of $340.00 per week. Thanks for letting me know your salary and when I am in the hospital, I get treated sometimes very bad. I will be glad to use this.

This is great!! Im trying to regain my motivation back. Nursing has drained my entire soul....and Georgia hit disrespectful different with pay! And have the nerves to super increase the houses out here!!! So stressful 😫

I found out it depends on the needs of the industry or Society if they need health care or nurses then I can dictate your pain many people go to California because I feel like that's where the best Healthcare is and so pay goes along with it it may not be true though in all cases. This is probably why there's so many people going to certain States believed they have the best health care whether living

Mark what's crazy is I have my license endorsed in California as well, and all companies are not even close to what is being reported! It's a very few top-tier, high paid nurses and companies that will pay you well with great benefits. You have to find the real diamond amongst all the fakes!
@Mark-pz3lq Жыл бұрын
@@hellavablings917 are you referring to the salary travel nurses or acute care registered nurses. What I got from your comment was that companies are falsely advertising High salaries is that true?
@hellavablings917 Жыл бұрын
Mark more, so regular jobs that are not contract or travel. They claim the average is around 124k yearly ( around 59-60/hr) when most are not even bringing home over 80k. Depending on experience and the company. I know some AS nurses getting paid more than BSN, MSN, and NP's, which is insane! You definitely have to do your research before just making the move to California, thinking you're automatically going to be getting paid! I have compact licenses and Cali endorsement, and I am still looking for the best move overall 🙃.. salary and living cost!

Some people in some occupations may feel that they are broke, but it depends on many factors. 1.) Education, as in how far in college/medical school did you go? 2.)How many children do you have, and are you the only person in the home whose bringing home a paycheck? 3.)Are you part time or full time? 4.)Are you able to save and or invest your money? 5.)How many years have you been on your job/career? 6.)How much is your rent/mortgage/car note, car insurance/amount of your utilities, etc? I say all of this because some people are broke not necessarily because of the economy, but they are struggling because they are choosing to live above their means. Some people are choosing not to get more training or take classes to further their education, certification, qualification to make more money. I could go on and on. Some people honestly need and have to revaluate their priorities. Prioritization is key. Some people have had to change careers/jobs which can be a difficult decision for some.

Hi Tawanda! Just discovered your channel and loving it! I'm 44 and needed a career change and just became a nurse( not sure what I was thinking because I should have done this when I was younger with a better back 😅). Anyways my question is how much bedside experience will I need in order to become a home health nurse? I would love to do what you are doing and not having the stress of working bedside at a hospital this late in life.

RE: The two month's per year wherein we get paid 3X... I always referred to that as "Payday Lap". Always kind of cool. Also, toward the end of a given year, it's always a GLORIOUS moment to "Crack the Great Barrier" wherein the SS taxation drops off. Glorious !
