You will be less depressed when you see the American prices. It’s a hard place to be.

@@Tabularasa815 Cars, Phones, Clothes etc. are all the same price in europe, gas is much more expensive, the only thing cheaper is maybe groceries but only in countries that do not compare when it comes to wages, in countries with somewhat comparable wages like Switzerland or Norway (still lower though) groceries are much more expensive than in america

@@clean280 I’ve lived in Sweden and the Netherlands for prolonged periods of time (over 6 months). From my personal experience, prices are cheaper in Europe. Especially when it comes to education, childcare and health care, which is extremely costly in the US. Social welfare in terms of unemployment insurance, maternity leave etc are way better in Europe. I think you do make relatively more money on average in the US, but if you are planning to have a family (with kids), or have some unexpected incidents in life (injuries, events that misplace you from the labor force), I would argue that you will have a more balanced life in Europe.
