How much ice is TOO MUCH ice? | Simple ice maker repair!

This ice maker would not stop making ice. But until I could get it all out of the freezer, I couldn't see what the problem was. The ON/OFF/High Limit arm had come out of its socket (which was the actual switch), fixed that, now we are back in business!

Just found his vid today after doing what you saw him do for “ too long”, lol. We almost called a repair man. Imagine paying someone ( IDK, perhaps $100 ) just to watch him put the end of that thin lever back into place? Would have been made at myself for a long time!

Same. My Maytag Freezer-on-the bottom has the same problem. I was trying to get it in the square hole just above the correct one. There is a Terrible viewing angle from the the front. Thanks for helping me fix it.

Make sure the lever is in the detent and lift the handle up to off or on. If it cannot switch the unit off, you may need to replace. Let me know what model and I can recommend a replacement icemaker.

I would assume that the freezer is not cold enough, or your seal is allowing a small amount of air in, that is causing a very slight thaw freeze cycle. Try cleaning the seals really good in the grooves and on the face. Inspect it for any bends or kinks. And make sure nothing in the freezer is preventing tge door from closing all the way.

It should click into the detent. It may be worn out. Swapping the icemaker is pretty easy. May be time for a new one.

Are you getting water from the dispenser? If so, time for a new Icemaker, if not. Check the filter and the water source. If those are good, then water valve or control board.

The owners moved out a little over a week ago. I'm sure the lever got knocked loose when they were emptying the freezer. The door design on those botton freezers isn't the best.
