Ben I like the way you demonstrate your point. If the torque wrench handle length was reduced to 3.5”, you would lose the leverage ratio advantage available with the longer handle. You would have to apply more force or effort to obtain the same level of torque achieved by using the longer handle. If this is a trick question, then cut my legs off and call me shorty 🤷♂️. So someone hacked your Facebook page and stole your account ? Damn that sucks ! Cyber crime is rampant and an ugly sign of the modern times we live in. I remember a time not so long ago when…..and that’s all I have to say about that ✌🏻
@benalamedaracing27656 ай бұрын
Daniel, thanks and you got my point the amount of effort increases or decreases with a reduction or addition of wrench length or what we call stroke!
@danielwilson66656 ай бұрын
@@benalamedaracing2765 Ben, I appreciate your kind comment. I was going to say stroke, but I probably would have started rambling on about rod/stroke ratios and other stuff that would be very elementary to you. My comments are already too long and boring….kinda like this one. Thanks for sharing your words of wisdom with us all 🏁

Your observations are indeed correct and many have gotten the same results same as conventional collector vs. merge types.

Well my snowblower has 25ftps torque, plus u got to fiqure its kenetic energy, rotating mass with flywheel so it might measure different then a wrench
@benalamedaracing27656 ай бұрын
Yes sir these is why I mentioned rpms. Specially rotational inertia with aluminum or heavy steel flywheel. Heavier vs. light cranks/rods will really change the scenario but the twisting moments still the same.

How about a HP challenge. The most you can get out of a Ford 351 on REGULAR gas? Is this a ridiculous question?
@benalamedaracing27656 ай бұрын
It is possible specially with a good cylinder head plus displacement increases and using a big cam! I made 630 with a 302 block with street compression therefore it is easier with a 351 to start with.
@stuartwall82126 ай бұрын
gear reduction.....mmmmmm....If my car was not a street car, it would be forced to redline at about 115 mph. A torque less wonder with a crutch. 😲
@benalamedaracing27656 ай бұрын
It has been a long battle with the 2 speed powerglide vs. the 3 speed Th350/400. Now almost all NA racers run 3-4 gears for the obvious reasons specially if it is a 1/4 mile against an 1/8.

25ft/lbs @ 3000 RPM will turn that crank, with proper gearing It’s all about torque @ rpm but you will eventually get you car up that hill with enough turns on those vise grips, just don’t let go! 😂 Love your videos and have been subscribed for a while. Thanks for your knowledge and time.

25 foot pounds will still make the car run faster if the gearing allows the car to run where the improvement is made.

With that 2 foot long torque wrench you'd only need to apply 12.5lbs, less than the weight of a bowling ball. But, at 5252rpm you'd have 25 more horsepower.
@benalamedaracing27656 ай бұрын
Yes and this is why I said 3.5 from the center would give everyone an idea how much more effort would be required to do the same thing turn the crank over.
