It has been 11 years since I came to USA, time has flown by, I came here from a very poor family, my father paid my first semester tuition through loans and gave me $2500 cash, anyways I got a fellowship during my second semester and that paid my entire tuition for my MS and PhD and now I am a professor here in USA but now I feel lonely here sometimes and feel like going back sometimes.

If you work hard you will definitely be able to do that. If your course is in science and engineering you will get 3 years of work permit with average salary of $70000.For other courses you will get 1 year of permit. You can do rest of the calculations yourself. Save as much as you can. Don't spend too much. Try to get on campus jobs and summer internship and hopefully you will be able to pay for at least one semester. every year.

You can only work on Campus. Working outside campus is illegal. You can easily cover your living expenses through these jobs. They pay an average of $10/hr. However, sometimes it's difficult to find a job and you should not totally rely on them.

Both Fall and spring have their pros and cons. I think both are equal and will not affect your education much. You are right about the scholarships, but it also depends on universities and their budget assignments. I will still suggest that you try in Fall but do not waste time.

State universities are always cheaper. There are many around burbank. like CSULA and CSUF. Day 1 CPT is great if you can get one. I think your end goal is work permit. So it doesn't matter which CPT you use.

Hey Bhanu, this is very tough to predict. It's possible to get a very high paying job after MS. It is also possible to not get anything or if something goes wrong. Its a decision we all have to make. If you see yourself doing really good in India, you can work for some time, give it a try and see what happens. You can always come to USA for MS after some years of work experience.

I have to say its a big question that needs to be answered very carefully on my side. Although, it is possible, you have to make sure that it's worth the investment, the risks and what will happen in the worst case. You can always take a loan and pay it once you get a job, but in worst case, you might end up paying it for years and will not have any savings. I suggest you do more research and understand what is the end result that you are trying to achieve.

I would suggest doing MS in CS and then you can join a tech company, focus more on the product side and with some experience you can shift to product manager role. You can also try MIS (Management Information Systems). Its usually one year course, a lot cheaper. However, the OPT allowed is only for one year after graduation. So make sure you understand that.

One of the best ways is to get on campus jobs starting first semester to earn enough to pay off your monthly expenses , then get internship to pay of your 3/4 sem fees. That way you will need least amount of money to be withdrawn from the loan. I hope this helps you.

Do not rely on On-campus jobs. They are not always available and merely enough to pay for your rent. Internships can help but tough to get because of CPT documentation and such requirements. I suggest to try your best but at the same time spend as less as possible. Go to a university with less fee, use scholarship. Once you get a job, you can pay off the loan. Again, think about factors that OPT is only for 1 year with extension of 2 years. So you may only have 3 years to pay off.

Hey Rajan, the overall estimates, as mentioned in the video vary from $30000 - $60000 a year. All universities have differnt fees. All Courses have different fees. For example in India IIT fees is lot less than a private medical college. A bachelors is more expensive than a master as masters take only 2 years.
