Happy thanksgiving to you! Will be trying dunstan whenever my tiny seedlings reach fruiting stage, which may be quite a while 😂

@@farleyschmackums Thank you! Haha, it might be, but it's well worth the wait! I'm going to try and graft some for next year alongside our seedlings sales.

I will be picking my Dunstins tomorrow just before the deep freeze coming. I like to eat them fresh off the tree.
@themulberriesАй бұрын
@@CJDykes Good idea! They are much better picked fresh.

Wow the juice looks worth the squeeze. I’m thirsty just watching this

@@GardenAndgrow Haha, it made an excellent citrus-ade! Citrumelos have so much juice in them.

This is a great video. I’m starting a podcast with a friend about breeding work being done with tree crops and your name came up. I love the series you’ve been working on lately. I had no idea citrus could grow so far north.

@@BackyardBerry That's awesome! A lot of people don't realize because the research was abandoned, and the trees became primarily used as rootstock (which they do a great job as). However, I think there has been a bit of a revival as some of the old hybrids are revisited, and new ones are being tested. The compromise between flavor and hardiness is quite good with some varieties, and they will prove very valuable to people living off their land in colder climates.

@ very cool! Like I said I had no idea but that’s great information. Any chance you’d be willing to come on as a guest for an interview to answer a few questions about your projects and what you find interesting?

@@BackyardBerry Of course, I would be more than happy to! We can coordinate via email if that works. If you contact us through the website we'll be able to respond from our email.

@@BackyardBerry I wasn't able to find it, maybe double check that your contact form went through, thanks.

Whats your favorite mulberry?
@themulberriesАй бұрын
@@joman104 I haven't tried many actually, but I really like the red mulberry that we propagate. It was found here in central NC and we named it 'Prolific Red'. It's quite similar to Illinois Everbearing but a bit more flavorful and tarter.
