Written directions can be found in the description along with metric conversions!! 😊 Note: If you want your total wall hanging to be 3 ft long, but plan on only having half of that length to actually have knots, and the rest for fringe, you would only need to multiply: 1.5 ft x 4 = 6 ft. Then double that number: 6 x 2 = 12 ft. Then I would add the amount of remaining feet for fringe (doubling that number because of larks head). So 12 ft + 3 ft = 15 ft. Hope this helps! 💛

I am very grateful. I am already starting with macramé and when I want to do something else of mine, without following other people's recipes I lose a lot of material because I don't know how to calculate. Thank you for your tips.

Awesome! Thanks. I’m a boomer so I made large macrame curtains on my front porches back in my hippy days...and I used 4X’s, so since I’m doing some extra things in my hanging, I’ll be cutting them 6X’s. Thanks 🙏🏽

I really enjoyed your help in this video and would love some guidance on how to figure how long to cut my cord when I’m changing the mm size from smaller to larger thickness of cords. My pattern calls for 3mm but I’m going to try to make this basket with 5mm cord. So, should I cut my cord longer or shorter?

How would I use this method to take in consideration that I want my project to be 6ft wide? All the tips and tricks I have found so far only mention the length and then multiply. I assume I would need more rope to make a bigger project horizontally. I really love how simple you broke this down compared to others. I would gratefully appreciate your opinion with this.

I watched her video doing a wall hanging that she designed that was 1.5' wide by 3' long and she used 36 ropes at 25 ft. each and used square knots mostly. I'm trying to figure out the same thing on how many ropes i'll need to make mine 4' x 5' I hope this helps a little. :)

I am not a macrame expert but try marking a 6 inch increment on the pole you are going to use to anchor your piece. Put larks head on until you have covered the entire 1/2 foot. Multiply whatever number of larks heads it takes to cover 6 inches by 8 and now you know how many pieces of cord you will need to cover the width of your 4’ wide project.

Measure rope to make just 1 full length, and know how to adjust from their before cutting all the other rope for your project.

Are you saying that you need to multiply the length of the finished piece and then each vertical cord had to be cut that length??

Thank you. I will have to convert this to metric. It is strange that the thickness of the rope is measured in mm (metric) yet the length is in feet. Very confusing. Nasa lost a rover because of this They forgot the world agreed that metric was going to be the standard 😂
