Building a customer base is one of the hardest things for a small business and you've already done it, so a shop sounds like a great idea. Honest and competent mechanics are not easy to find for people. Just don't overextend yourself financially in the beginning. Good luck!

If you live near a big city $100,000 a year is very attainable as a Mobile Mechanic

I've been watching your channel for about a year now. You inspired me to start my own business. Thank you.

I also work as a mobile mechanic. I work 9 months a year and go on vacation the other 3 months. When I run into other Americans in foreign countries there shocked when they ask me what I do for a living. Then I tell them I work on cars. They don’t understand that it’s a very good business to be in working on cars.

You won’t charge for diagnostic if you can’t figure it out! What a breath of fresh air I had a mobile mechanic charge me $600 for diagnostic and he couldn’t even figure out what the problem was so I had too have it towed too the dealer, rest assured I disputed that charge on my card and won and will never call that piece of shit wanna be mechanic again.

No brainer to hire this guy not only are his rates much less than dealer he does door to door service. Remember when doctors came to your home ? No, I am age 60 and that was before my time.

I think you’re undervaluing your labor both from an economic perspective . Get yourself a Mitchell labor and material guide and trial late. I’d still charge your mark up on customer supplied material. So as if you bought it charge a min 15% mark up. You still have to pay taxes and insurance.

Never will i used a Reman part ever, those lately have been a coin flip of arriving DOA or working, but eventually failing, id definitely would get a used OEM part from the junkyard before using a reman part. They are less than half the price of a reman and you get experience/practice of taking it off before doing it on your own car.

I'm glad you're doing well for yourself and I really hope you're able to open a shop soon enough. Do you have an opinion on Monroe strut assemblies? I have a 2009 Sienna with 275,000 kms and the top bearings are shot. Looks like a pain to change the bearing. I don't really want to change the strut independent of the spring. KYB strut assemblies are $100 (Canadian) more than Monroe.

Bro if you really need capital for your business i wouldve just got on a payment play with the irs. The interest they charge really isnt bad. Your return on that investment will be way higher.
