I chose not to do this because I teach full-time in a classroom and the salary is not even half of what I get at work. However, watching your videos are making me reconsider! You are a great teacher/mentor. Please keep doing what you do for VIP and the world at large. We need more organic and authentically enthusiastic souls like you creating a world of life-long learners. Keep being you. You inspire and create a sense of wonder that everyone you work with must treasure. Good Journey!

This was such a huge compliment! Thanks! I understand a full-time salary in comparison to teaching ESL online, especially if you have a masters or PHD that moves you up several levels in the pay scale along with years of experience. What I love most about VIPKID is the flexibility, interactive curriculum and the kids! They are the best! There are many opportunities outside of teaching that you can build your skill set with and share the talents and skills that you have. If you ever want to supplement with VIPKID and give it a taste let me know!! It is my all time favorite teaching job! nancytaylor6262@gmail.com Keep up the great work!

Why would you consider this if you are a teacher already. Do you have a twqo income household? This seems more like a part time job. There will be a huge drop in pay if you do this instead of being a regular teacher.

I have a 22month old and am so excited to be able to work VIPKID as a second job from home! No more tutoring outside of home, taking even more of the time I could have with her away. This opportunity is a blessing and I'm so excited to get started! I had my Mock 1 today and have been checking my email like a crazy person in anticipation! Keep doing what you do- you are a blessing to so many!!

You are absolutely adorable. A teacher friend who I coached with several years ago is currently teaching with VIPKid and she seems to enjoy it. I just left public school teaching after 18 years, and I always enjoyed tutoring the little ones though I primarily taught Middle Schoolers (I'm a certified secondary English/Social Studies teacher). I appreciate your enthusiasm and the amount of information you've provided is greatly appreciated. I was largely a stand up comedian in my own classes so I must admit I was smiling through the majority of this video. Fabulous. You have certainly convinced me to complete the rest of my application process, as I was not aware of the other potentials like mentoring and recruiting! Thank you!

I had no idea what VIPKID was so I clicked... I'm not a teacher, but I wanted to tell you Nancy - I LOVE YOUR ENERGY! If you ever think about considering a career beyond teaching, I guarantee you you would make an absolute killing as a Life Coach. Life Coaches don't need any specific certification, it's basically Consulting, and they COMMONLY book a lot fewer clients at high ticket prices. Example: 2 clients a month for 10k each, 12 weeks of individualized 'training' to get life organized and back on track. Just a thought. If you've have never thought about anything like that before, Eben Pagan, Sam Ovens, Russel Brunson - all great individuals in that field. Russel Brunson's book "Expert Secrets" you can buy for just the shipping on his site. Sam Ovens and Eben Pagan hold extremely informative masterclasses that in my opinion, pretty much have all the key information already...especially for someone who is already successful and may just be looking for a few ideas. You're beautiful! Wish there was MUCH MORE of your Spirit out there! Take care!Lindsay

Thanks Nancy, I enjoyed your video so much. As a retired teacher I find I miss my time with my students. When I heard about VIP KID I thought I had to look into it and see if it could allow me to still teach and have time to spend with my grandchildren. Your information has made me feel like it is very possible. I started out many years ago as the director of a child care business. When my own children started school I went back to school to earn my masters in education and enjoyed many years teaching, mostly on a high school level. I know I enjoy working with young children and so this position is right up my alley! thank you again for puttig so much information out there. I am convinced that I should apply to VIP KID!

Such a true presenter & good energy! It’s no wonder you do well! Thanks for the info! Unfortunately based on that info, it doesn’t sound like a good fit for me. Based on my available hours, energy level, experience, I’d probably bring in max $500/month. I make that in one weekend of driving UBER Select in LA. We all must put our talents where they’re best suited & I dint think mine is teaching. One thing not addressed is lesson prep time. Regardless of the fact VIPKid is advertised that there is no prep time, that’s just not accurate. EVERYONE should be at least reading through their lesson and preparing props & tools. This takes time that overall bumps the hours up....way up! I put a value to my time (based on a number of factors) and have determined my time is worth considerably more than even the max of $22/ hr which I know I’ll NEVER reach doing just part time at the level I’ll be able to commit to. But I commend you & your efforts! You’re super friendly, so sweet & I’m sure your VIPkids LOVE YOU!! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Miska!! If you ever want to add some teaching into your schedule to mix it up with UBER I know that there are a lot of teachers out there that do both! What a great option and great flexibility! That is awesome. If you wanted to work those early morning hours when most aren't needing a ride then you could hit 20 hours and make around $1,000-$2,000 a month! Shoot me an email if you are every interested, and I appreciate your honesty and kind comment! nancytaylor6262@gmail.com

"Blow your figures out of the water" was the saying you were looking for right at the end of the video. I suspect you already know that, since I did hear water sounds behind you in the video.☺ You could also say "blow my numbers out of the sky" but "water" is more commonly used. Former 5 year Navy veteran. We had to blow stuff out of the water ourselves from time to time.☺ For that, just on my first ship(USS DEYO DD989) we had an 8 cell ASROC launcher (anti-submarine rockets). We did shoot things out of the sky from time to time, as well. We had 2 Phalanx CIWS and an 8 cell NATO Sea Sparrow launcher for shooting stuff out of the sky. ☺ We also had 2 5" 54 caliber MK 45 guns, mounted fore and aft, but those were more typically employed for land-based targets. We had 2 triple torpedo launchers, one port and one starboard, for blowing other ships out of the water, although we didn't engage them during my stint because we were not at war. Also 2 quad cannisters HARPOON missile launchers for blowing stuff out of the water, like other surface warfare ships, too.☺ We also had two 4-cell Tomahawk deck mounted box missile launchers installed while Deyo was in the yards in Portland Maine. They eventually removed those AND the ASROC launcher and installed a 61 cell Vertical Launch System below the deck on the forecastle. We did have to scuttle a small boat that we caught trying to smuggle many kilos of marijuana into the country, however. For that, one of our Gunners Mates used a 54 caliber machine gun. That was cool. But we did not blow it out of the water: we actually shot it full of so many holes that it sank. At, I think, around 4,000 fathoms? Pretty deep, I remember thinking. 24,000 feet, since 1 fathom = 6 feet. (5 years aboard 2 surface warfare ships, stationed primarily out of Charleston, South Carolina.)

How do taxes factor into the pay?

I'm glad you mentioned balance because that's what I DO NOT want to do is bite off more than I can chew lol New teacher here "whoop whoop," but I'm not going to lie I'm exhausted already lol so far I'm just updating my profile pic and intro vid, but I really want to come up with a good happy teaching medium when teaching my first month. Mornings or evenings were better for you? And weekends free? Btw i have 3 kids which 2 are in school so it's not to bad. My only thing is my kids school bus comes at 7am every morning so I am wondering if I should split up some days and maybe work early morning some days or M-F work 4-6am then evenings. Hmmm decisions lol
@NancyTaylor7 жыл бұрын
Finding a schedule that works the best for you and your own schedule takes some time. I teach 4-7 am M-F and then I do mentoring on the weekends. I do emails etc. whenever Ava is asleep or hanging with dad! It works perfect for us! It depends on your time zone too. If you have to have everyone to the bus by 7 maybe evenings would work better... but I would try it and see what you like!!

Can you do a video for new teachers that aren't getting bookings and how to get follows?
@NancyTaylor7 жыл бұрын
Great recommendation! Thanks for the input! I'd love to help! Also check the forums on freshdesk and facebook pages for this information because it is very helpful to see what other teachers are doing right now! Bookings will pick up!

I have been all over those. I have done multiple workshops. and am now certified in every level, but Level 6. I don't understand why I haven't even gotten one booking.

As English speakers the best online job is to "teach" English, you can make 60+ dollars a day by doing it at www.DaDaABC.com/teacher/job/W2I1h3G56b/ register, go through the interview (you don't need a degree just a clear and understandable accent) and that's it. the monthly earnings can reach 3000+ dollars depending on your schedule, as for the students, they will mostly be kids and teenagers.

Nancy, a friend mentioned she is teaching ESL on line, and it got me to thinking! I am a retired teacher with 26 years experience teaching what use to be called, Home Economics, and have a Bachelor of Science Degree. That included teaching: Child Development, Foods and Nutrition, Sewing, Family Development, also Housing and Design. I also have a Masters of Elementary Education, and a Masters of Education. I have the time to do this and love working with all age children. I loved my students, and to this day when I see one they hug my neck!! I am very interested in doing this, but I will need assistance in making my Demo. Where do I start and is their someone, or can you help me? I love your video and delightful personality.

That's pretty cool. So, how much goes back to the government when April rolls around? I'm sure the teachers are independent contractors
@NancyTaylor6 жыл бұрын
I put aside 30% of my paycheck. You fill out a 1099, so it is an independent contracted position:)

Hi Nancy! Love your videos! I am applying to VIPKID currently, but I am wondering about a payment question: If you start off at a certain pay rate and you consistently perform well in your classes, are you eligible for a pay raise? Thanks in advance!
@NancyTaylor7 жыл бұрын
Yes, They reassess at the end of your contract! When you sign your new contract at the 6 month mark it could go up!

Man! I want to do this so badly! I just heard about this company and I want to apply but I only have an associates degree, not a bachelors. Boo! I am currently in school to get my bachelors degree in teaching, actually but as I'm a busy mom of 4, it's going to take me about three more years to finish it. I was thinking I'd like to teach in a classroom after graduating but now after hearing about this, I'm wondering if I'd enjoy doing this more. You're so energetic and fun and that's exactly how I'd like to teach. By the way, before you even mentioned going to girls camp I was thinking...I betcha anything she's LDS. Me too! Haha! You can just tell. Anyway, hopefully you're still doing this in another 3 years if and when I finally get that degree. You are an awesome mentor, I'm sure.

I'd love to help you out! I'm so impressed with your current situation being a mom of 4 and attending school to get your bachelors!! Keep up the great work, and I plan on working for VIPKID as long as they will have me! It is my favorite teaching job!!! Being a mom is my number one favorite job though, as I'm sure you could agree! I do the same thing with others that are LDS:) hehehe!
