It’s important to note that prisoner of Azkaban got released in the summer movie season . Which is traditionally more competitive, than their usual fall movie release . Less than a moth later Spider-Man 2 premiered. And that was another blockbuster.

I think they should have released prizoner of azkaban during the fall instead of the summer. It wouldn’t have had any other big blockbusters to compete with. Prizoner of azkaban also has a much darker tone compared to the first two Harry Potter films. And the tone for prizoner of azkaban would have fit perfectly during halloween time.

I think the most astonishing fact that was missed out was that three of these films were the biggest films of their respective years, and Deathly Hallows Part II was the third highest grossing movie of all time for a while, being the highest grossing movie not made by James Cameron in the world as well.

This goes to show that if Warner Bros did the Fantastic Beast series right, the series could've made records. How they managed to fail it is beyond me, a round table of experienced creators and executives should've known better. Deathly Hallows part 1 grossed $977 million 4. Order of the Phoenix grossed $942 million 5. Half blood prince grossed $ 934 million 6. Goblet of Fire made $897 million 7. Chamber of Secrets made $880 million 8. Prisoner of Azkaban made $798 9. Fantastic Beasts made $814 million 10. Fantastic Beasts TCOG made $654 Million 11. Fantastic Beasts TSOD grossed $409 million Also FB3 didn't flop its a dissapointment. Otherwise all MCU films that made $400 million in 2021 flopped then Also NO HARRY POTTER film is bad .

When you take inflation into the mix, the numbers are probably vastly different. I mean look at the prices they charge at the movie theaters. Back when the first few movies came out, they cost maybe $7 per person and now they are around $16. the value of the dollar meant more so the numbers are not perfect,

Harry potter has many great things stories could be made about, anyways throughout the books and movies there are references to the first wizarding world and marauder's. A movie could be made about this. Seeing as your Wizarding world knowledge is immense, and you had an education about movie bussines. (not sure what it was called. You could make a video about the Plot points it could have and things that should be added. I know no movie is coming about this so who other then you could make a vid about this. I love how much time and reserch you put into your videos. Again, I've dreamed what you do if my fanfics were cannon. Since I can't imagine anyone else but you doing videos of them if my stories were canon. That's how much I'd admire you and your talent. As for how much money they make? I don't normally think about money. I just want to judge for myself if I like it or not. That's why I don't listen to movie criqitues or spoiler videos and such. I want to judge it on my terms without any bias opinions. I understand for the movie makers that money matters. But sometimes I think its up to the audaince to decided for themselves if it rises or falls. I only had to think about why Prisoner of Azkaban would have been one of the lowest making movies for a couple seconds before I realized Spider-Man 2 also came out the same Summer. The answer is Spider-Man 2. Kids and parents would’ve full stop choose that movie over Harry Potter because it’s fucking Spider-Man and literally nothing like it had ever been done before. It literally laid the foundation of how and why the mcu was so successful.

It makes sense that Prisoner of Azkaban didn’t make as much. When making a series of movies, with the time, each one makes less. There was a lot of hype for the 1st one, so it natural for it to make a lot but the 2nd one, that’s when it starts to fall. What made Goblet of Fire make more is Voldemort. The villain everyone is so scared of comes back, Cedric dies which for a book made into movie aimed at kids, was a big thing. The Triwizard tournament translated so well for a Hollywood movie and even if book fans hated it, the movie was well made for a bigger audience. As someone who didn’t read the books as a kid, there was something in GoF that was so enjoyable to watch and I would always go back to that one. And in the end, it helped get the series back on track. If GoF would’ve made less than PoA, the series would’ve been cancelled, as it happened with Fantastic Beasts.

I recently watched all of the 8 movies again and I have a favorite which is not everyone's favorite I guess- Chamber Of Secrets. Let me say that the first two films were amazing and the last one was good too. I tried to count how many inaccuracies there are in the first film and I found 17 changes in 8 minutes which made me even more clear how different the two medias are. I guess from the film makers perspective they want to give the viewer the main idea and the rest is less important for them to be accurate about. I think that had they made book accurate movies they would have gotten a lot more money for it. As for what you said about yourself Morgan I feel you brother- I myself suffer from two mental issues and I am not afraid to say PTSD and sociopath.

Something that you did not look at, Merchandising, Over time reshowing the movies on all size screens does add to the bottom line, but becoming some what of a loss leader. Meaning that they are there to remainder us to pick up that tee shirt we have been looking at. The income from all the merchandising will have dwarfed the income of the movies sometime ago. That would be a interesting video, so have a go and have some fun with that. Please don't get me wrong i know that Harry Potter will stand the test o time standing with Tolkien, Dickens, Carroll, Cervantes, there is no doubt there. But in our life time, for good or other wise we will live with the reality of merchandising. It's up to you how you want to participate in that part of it..
