Great video would have taken a locum year had I really known about the flexibility and pay, didnt do a fy3 or break at all straight into core surgical. You must be dreading the step down in salary in gp training? But i suppose progression makes it worth it? Great video for med students and foundation docs.

Yeah I'm definitely going to notice the difference in pay! But it's definitely time I went back into training, I've been out for 3 years. I know quite a few doctors like yourself who have gone straight into training and I think it's becoming more common as there seems to less locum shifts/clinical fellow jobs available. Thanks! Hopefully it's helpful for those considering taking a break from training
