Thanks to a few of my video’s taking off this channel gained 100,000 subscribers and over 5.5 million views within a month.
I hope it goes without saying that I am incredibly grateful to everybody who has watched my videos, subscribed, left an encouraging comment or even pointed out area’s where I can improve.
But with that sappy bullshit out of the way, all regular viewers of the channel will know by now that I hate dragging out an answer to a simple question just to get you to stick around so, $29,000… I made $29,000 in the month that my channel “blew up” as the kids say.
Now there are some really interesting things that I have discovered in this period of rapid growth, and some concerning trends which will likely mean that this gravy train is coming to an end very soon, not only for my channel, but for almost every channel on the platform.

My man, this should be the gold standard of KZbin. Getting right to the point, no cringy look at how few percentages of you subscribed, no bullshit sponsors. Only promoting membership or Patreon. You honestly deserve way more Views/ Subs/ $$$ I binge watched all your Videos the day I found your channel. :) Also an idea for your channel: Can you make a poll or vote in the comments of your short videos on whether the viewers would like to see a more in depth video for that topic?
@ik2254
@ik2254 11 ай бұрын
I think if you are interested in finance and economics, you should have known that everything business people do has a rational seed behind it. KZbinrs that shill shitty sponsors, constantly say to subscribe do so, because it works. Their audience, if not told to subscribe - will not subscribe, or subscribe in a fewer amounts. Same goes for likea and comments. Shitty sponsors are present only because people eat them. If there were zero interactions on the links + garnered huge amounts of hate, there won't be any. As an example - look at Paul brothers. Bith are fraudster, who literally stole and continue to steal tens if millions from their gullible audience. Why? Because it works. A stupid imbecile that watches them has an attention span of a gold fish, with an intellect to match. So it just works. Scam your subs for millions, make an apology video in 20 minutes, wait it out, and rinse and repeat. There are people who won't fall for it. But for every 5 people that don't, there will be 2-3 that do. So why try harder, when you can just expand horizontally, for less effort and more money. "Show me the incentive and I'll tell you the result" - as someone said. The amount of shitty, scammy youtubers, with shady business practices and flexible ethics is only because it works. It's a point if equilibrium between effort and money. If it's easier to pump out shit, clickbait, and poorly researched takes and tell people to like and sub AND makes more money than sinking 200hrs on one video - the only thing that will lead tye creator to choose the second option are his principles and if he views his effort as art, not money-making operation. People are stupid. People like to consume crap. That's a fact, wether you and me like it or not. Because we are the minority

So I know I don't need to wait (or skip) through a bunch of crap to learn it. I also know you are going to spend the entire video delving into the topic, which is the really interesting part. 2) You told me how much it cost to join and the number is very small. I'm not recommending you add a 30 second blurb during every video, but I can't be the only person out there too lazy to look it up. You're doing great work. I will say this channel has a reputation I completely agree with: honest, considerate, trustworthy and straightforward. The content is valuable because it appeals to development of the viewer rather than idle distraction-like all those videos which seem to exist solely for the sake of profit, contributing nothing of value to the viewer. It is also up to the viewer whether or not they watch something of value vs something to just turn your brain off for a while, which is nice to do sometimes. Your videos are those I save to watch when I have the time and energy available to do so. I commit to these videos, not to the silly ones. Hope this gives at least some anecdotal perspective on the mindset of your viewers.

This channel is as refined as the latest Wendover Production videos, with the same humor (that I personally love) and without the Wendover Productions early days, where you could barely listen to Sam before wanting to puke yesterday's lunch through your eyes. And it took surprisingly little time to get there. Well done. Definitely deserving to blast off.

I'm honestly the guy who loves getting the answer first and than watch things behind unfold. I love watching ALL these videos and for the record, I do all the way to the end. Love supporting people like this. Now that I know how it works I'll keep helping any way I can. Good content, like this, should be rewarded.

I'm much more compelled to watch an entire video after being revealed the answer right away. Especially if it's controversial. I hear it and I think, "Ok, now how are you going to back this statement up". I'm much more compelled to listen to the whole explanation after because I'm either interested or I'm not.

Well said on the scammers that make finance KZbin extra lucrative. On the one hand, I'm happy to take money away from them via ad revenue. On the other, you'd hate to allow more opportunities for folks to be scammed.

The quality of your content easily outclasses Graham stephan and Andre jikh, and just know that your viewers love your propensity not to drag videos out with filler words and meaningless content

"Video gaming content creators have to split focus on KZbin and Twitch" While this is true, empirically, all major Twitch streamers also have their own KZbin channels, and they just hire editors to edit their twitch content to put on KZbin. There is lateral growth in both markets.

@@HowMoneyWorks How about? ... Seriously. A content drop for Patreon. A scheduled series content drop for the channel. It is an opportunity to have content on a pre-determined subject with a regular schedule. A chance to practice presentation by producing variants over time. I think I've only seen one follow up How Much video, but your audience may have seen more of these unicorns. Sounds like content that is untapped. Ultimately, you may want to look at the results of the video to decide if there is enough Watch Time, Engagement, etc, to warrant the production time (which gets streamlined through repeated cycles).

The transparency is fantastic, I appreciate you not dragging out the answer & no clickbait titles. Additionally, not promoting random ads where you say “I’ve been using them for a while now & their product is fantastic” like every other KZbinr, I like every single one of your videos and watch them all right to the end, something I definitely don’t do for the other clickbaiters & add pumpers, I just hope others are like me, so that you end up with more likes/views than the others

One question that ever since lingers on my mind is whether it's helpful (or actually the opposite) to delete one's own lower quality videos. I don't know if having less videos from one day to the next would mean that youtube recommends the left (better) or just fewer videos to people.

Just do something that will earn you money while you sleep, no matter how little. A pandemic is the perfect way to open your eyes to really see what life could be like without your usual income stream and everyone had to stay home. Well I never felt it because I invested in a trading company where I earn 4 digits per week. The best thing you can do for yourself is invest more and spend less.
