As a girl, I don't want to be dependent to my partner for financial security. I am responsible for my own finances, and I expect that he has the same mindset. The only security I need from my partner is emotional security.

Having kids is similar to maintaining one's lifestyle and one do have options to take. Example, helper vs DIY, Govt preschool vs Private preschool, Car vs no car. And so on... Those who think this is expensive that is expensive is because they have high expectations to meet or assume the society expects them to.

Actually, workplace relationships are common, but workplaces need to know, so that any potential conflicts are avoided (e.g. one part of the couple should never report to the other half).

i feel, it wont mean that cannot get gf without car, but definitely with a car you can get one more easily yaknow, like drive her out for dates or activity or small roadtrip to jb etc is easier than going places that are less accessible via public transport or still need to wait for grab..

1mil bto will be soon especially the prime category. But there is still 300k bto at the OCR, thus just say people can’t afford bto when they want to choose at prime area. It’s like saying my chai peng is very expensive as I only want to eat fish, sotong and pork chop.

It's true that girls from part of millennial gen onwards are getting more and more materialistic, determine whether to date a guy base on car is one thing. If go on first date only if never bring her go eat at atas restaurant and treat her, she will upright comment "you poor thing can't even afford to bring her to restaurant and eat etc". I already feel numb to all these nonsenses and prefer to stay single already, feel much happier.

So true, and all the talk about gender equality and feminism isn’t helping much either. It seems like they want the benefits of earning a good salary and having a successful career but still expect guys to pay for everything and own a car so they can be the passenger princess.

actually thats a good thing no? if she complain about you not bringing her to atas restaurant then you should know her type. stop loss

If you say “don’t have kids as insurance for your old life”, then what is a good reason for having kids? Because other than bible’s “be fruitful and multiply”, almost every reason for having kids is selfish. “I love children” - just because YOU love kids you want to bring them to this world to suffer / leave them to fight for their own in this competitive and brutal world? “I want to be a dad/mum” - just because YOU want to experience parenthood you want to bring them to this world? “I want to continue my family lineage” - your kid didn’t ask to be brought into this world to continue your family lineage and multiply for you. “It’s part of life” - absolutely no reason whatsoever, having a kid just because is also extremely thoughtless and irresponsible. And based on what you’re saying, can I say the same when my parents ask for me to take care of them? I didn’t ask to be brought into this world - why should i take care of you. I didn’t ask to be born into a poor family, why should i work hard just so my family can have a good life? I didn’t ask to be an adult, why should i join the rat race just to survive in this world? Not trying to be rude or anything, but i wonder everyday why do people have kids? Will my spouse take care of me when I’m old then? Is it his/her responsibility then? I love my spouse but is it selfish to assume he/she will take care of me? What happens when my spouse die before me? Who will be left in this world to remember me, love me, care for me then? What will be the end of me? Die alone in my HDB flat’s toilet with my corpse rotting?
