We’re currently in the process of buying a doer upper. Our budget is also £50,000. It was really good to see your breakdown, particularly as we intend doing many of the jobs that you have done. We also plan a 20sqm single storey extension - but gradually realising this may be unrealistic with our budget.

Thank you. Yes I agree, we definitely would have spent far more if we’d hired more of the work out. We did this around our full time jobs, it was just a lot of hours on evenings and weekends

Were not as young as you its our 5th renovation and fuinal one we had to employ alot of labour total for renovation extention which is very big 90K we still have two bedrooms to decorate and carpet then minor works to garage roof and garden base and shed poss another 5k then were done

Great insight. We are potentially buying a bungalow which will need gutting. Full re wire new kitching hopefully get an en suite put in. Walls moved. Doors moved. I was wondering why it took 18 months was this because you did a lot of demo yourselves? I was hoping we could do ours in 2-3 months. Bow I'm not sure

Yes it was because we did a large amount of the work ourselves and we’re fitting it in around our full time jobs. I would say 6 months would have been a realistic timeline if we had more help 😊

For our en-suite the tiler was our plumbers son, so he scheduled it for us 😊 For our main bathroom our plumber did the tiling for us

For all of the doors. We got them in the sale at wickes and we get trade discount on top of that 😊
