The better fuel economy could also have something to do with a better tune. Maybe its not just dumping fuel all the time in the name of "safety" but tuned correctly to make safe, reliable power.

I theorize the fact that you can get up to speed faster means you're cruising more in general as well instead of lagging in like 5th gear, and on the gas pedal longer. Getting up to speed a little faster in this situation could have helped with being on the gas a little less overall, so higher gas mileage

My best guess on the increased mpg is a reduction in pumping losses. Since you are closer to zero vacuum while cruising under the same load, it will increase the efficiency of the engine. G series turbos seem to be a little over rated power wise. You can see it by looking at the compressor maps. Not surprised it didnt make as much.

Love the videos so much guys , definitely keep the evo stuff coming ! Noticed Mivec was only deleted on the Exhaust side which is great news , otherwise it would have a horrid spool if both intake and exhaust were gone . interesting to see how an open scroll kit with an appropriate sized turbo compares to say my stock location unit which is still twin scroll . Im curious to test my new small runner manifold (1.25), which most companies only produce large runner (1.5) on a similar sized turbo . attempting to get away from the hassle of the stock frame while maintaining similar spool characteristics . not very easy to remove and swap like the 8/9 Looks like your seeing peak boost at 47-4800rpm with initial peak tq at 5000 vs im seeing peak boost(30psi) and tq right around 3800 . car makes about 90whp less on stock engine (dynojet) thanks so much for the content , helps a ton when making build decisions moving forward !

It looks like your wing is adjustable, so you'd get way better MPG by adjusting it to be less aggressive - making less downforce but also reducing drag which would improve efficiency. Currently it looks like it's at least at a 10 degree angle of attack, which is pretty unnecessary for highway driving.
