I know many will disagree with me... so what do you think someone SHOULD be making in roofing sales?

I think it should be a case by case basis based off the individual’s numbers. If I’m knocking and getting 7 to 10 deals a week and the average in the company is 2 to 5 a week maybe I’m wrong for thinking this way I think I definitely feel it should be based of how much work you put into it. The percentage should go up based off performance.

After the law in Texas from 2019, the deductible eaters who were fighting their way to the bottom have mostly left and prices have gone up. I did a 25 square in 2016 for under $8 thousand. This year I'll be replacing the same roof for $20 thousand.

My commission is 15%. If you do roofing sales.. go commission only.. that’s with any sales really .. unless you have a high base pay.

I'm starting with a roofing company in Houston in one week. My goal for my first year is 100k which feels like a lofty goal but I know it can be done. That's about what the average salesperson makes with this company, but some have even made upwards of 300k which is crazy money especially here in Texas where the cost of living is less. I'm extremely motivated and hungry for success, plus I have some sales experience already in the automotive industry so I think that will help.

What commission should a roofing canvasser be paid?
@Winergy777 Жыл бұрын
Dont this depend on what your commission is also. We get 5% per roof. Is 150k-300k still do-able?
@RyanONeill8611 ай бұрын
Just do the math. What does the average roof cost on a sale you would do? Now times that by 0.05 and thats your commission. Divide that by 150,0000 or whatever number you want to make and that is how many roofs you need to sell to do that. Let's say the average roof is 15k - at 5% of revenue thats a commission of $750 - you would have to sell 200 roofs to make that mark.Or better yet, 17 a month...basically one every other day...Not very doable at 5% of revenue if you ask me.

Is this a goal of a sale a week during storm or out of storm?
@TheRoofStrategist2 жыл бұрын
I think that's bare bones minimum for either. If you are getting inbound leads, I'd sure hope you'd do more than that.

It isn't easier for a W2 employee to purchase a home compared to 1099. They both require two years of stable employment history in the same line of work. The only difference is 1099's are required to show tax returns to prove income whereas W2's use their paystubs instead. However, even though they're W2, Lenders will still request their tax history for the prior 2 years to confirm their W2 pay isn't fraudulent.
@Alwayslate-gv9vw Жыл бұрын
This isn’t true. It’s dramatically easier to qualify as a W2 employee. If you have less than two years 1099 then most lenders won’t qualify you at all. W2 they will just take your average your last two years even if it’s different positions

Im _this_ close to going into roofing sales, a week from giving my 2 weeks where im working, but im so unbelievably nervous. The pay sounds good, but sales anything has always been associated with scams. Im scared ill make even less money despite what they told me. 1 sale is supposed to give me more than what i made in a week, but what if thats just a lie? What if its too hard to sell to people in my area? I also heard 1 sale a week is bare minimum, but ive never sold anyone on anything. What if everyone is put off by me and doesnt buy?

Hey Adam. Thanks so much for everything. Can you talk about the importance of date of loss? With insurance. As a tool. And anything else you can add to it. Hopefully that makes sense
@justinmerritt3882 жыл бұрын
Date of loss can be one of the most important parts of this industry. You have to cross check specific storm events with the type and size of damage your finding. File a claim on a date that no storms were observed and your claim could easily be denied.
