It was a very serious injury. Think 230 lbs landing directly on your head and your head snapping. My coach saw it as it was during practice and was actually shocked I wasn't paralyzed lol. @@MogulMonk1 It's really not. It's based off a single study, which is questionable at best. There are plenty of people who function with 0% impairment with 6 hours of sleep or less. Your level of sleep isn't determined by time. It's by the quality of REM sleep. Which happens in intervals of 90 minutes. Light sleep > REM > Light > REM > LIght and so forth. If you have high quality REM, due to health, lack of intrusions, comfort, etc, you get better over all sleep. Waking up, or being disturbed during the "Light" sleep phase, causes virtually no issue with sleep quality. This is why snoozing an alarm, often does nothing. You were either in light sleep, and are unaffected, or you were in REM sleep, and now your brain is essentially mid re-boot and you feel groggier. This is why people like myself, can sleep 4-6 hours and be fine, but others can oversleep, 10-12 hours and actually feel worse. It also directly relates to one physiology and vastly differs from person to person.

@@MogulMonk1 Because I don't need to waste my time for youtube strangers. The study he cites says 1\200 people. Which is 0.5%. He then intentionally leaves that part out and broadly applies it to the entire population. When both pool size and ethnic diversity are marginally small. Which is important because different cultures/regions have exceptionally varying physiology based on life style and culture. Which includes sleep patterns. 1/200 is quite common. For frame of reference out of the Entire global population, 40 million people would have this capability. Which is the entire population of Canada, or Ukraine, or Poland. Or the Collective population of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Denmark, and The Netherlands combined. Or 8.5% of the total U.S population. Theres dozens of studies that disprove this man, and show sleep requirements are based entirely on REM sleep quality, not quantity. Thats why you can oversleep 12-16 hours and feel like dogshit rather than like a god.
