He cut out the syn gut crosses and had the left poly (confidential) in the mains. Syn gut drops tension those 2-5 kgs (4-10 lbs), but then holds it well. Thats why we string the syn gut tighter than other strings.

Harry, specifically which syn gut did you use? Wonder how a full bed of Confidential would have compared to these two hybrids? Im sure even lower but by how much?

How much tension did the poly lose in the poly/multi hybrid?
@tobycolin627111 ай бұрын
The loss of tension in hybrids is a real problem as the string bed tension differential is high. This induces stresses in the frame racquets where never designed for. As a recreational player I have ditched polys and use multis technifibre triax I can take my racket out of my bag and so far I had 12 weeks no tension loss.

Not arguing with you but Tennis Warehouse University says otherwise. Dunno which gauge if Vanquish Harry used but if you compare the 16ga of both, Vanquish shows a 21% (17ga @ 17%7 tension loss vs 25% for Triax. The best being natural gut which tension loss % ranges from 9.6 to 13%.

@@locotone07 I’ve had less than 4 weeks from a full bed of the following, luxillon alu power, hyper g, and pro tour. Friends rackets aren’t getting much more. You won’t notice because the loss of tension is offset by the loss of electricity in the strings. You generally feel it in the elbow and wrist and the loss of elasticity is felt most by players like me that gave a big flat serve. I came back to tennis this year and restrung my 3 rackets with alu power 2 where in my bag and they where all dead at 4 weeks then I worked through hyper g and pro tour on recommendations but no longer life out of them. I use the stringster app a tourna tension meter and check the performance of the rackets. If your using polys I would check them before each match because just because they aren’t breaking it doesn’t mean there any good.

so polys are better then hybrids, which holds longer?
@ariurip375111 ай бұрын
Isnt syngut supposedly hold tension longer than multi?
@taytay873211 ай бұрын
No multis have better tension maintenance but syn gut is usually stiffer and harsher. The upsides are durability and price compared to multis

There are so many variables in what happens when you test strings like that. You should have tested the mains also. Poly's on the mains should be less tension than the SG crosses. The mains should be SG and should be tighter than crosses. IMO. The racquet collapsed wen you cut the crosses. What did you expect? .

A complete string bed syn gut of decent quality "toalson, even 1.20mm" only loses 2kg after 1.5 months (24 to 22kg with about 2-3 hours of recreational playing) so I assume that solinco pro-stacked or gosen og-micro will not be worse ....

most poly lose tensions faster than syn & multi

So what is it to get out of this video?. im still confused. dont buy syn gut? Well quality and price is not always coherent. Babolat Prolast plays on par with the much higher priced Luxilon Alu And the Syn gut comes in varies qualities. Babolat Syn Gut seems to hold quite well. and Syn Gut is still the best for beginners and for juniors. If you hit with the racket not long after stringing, then the more expensive multis do not outlast the syn gut with much.

The shifty Shift is not good. Inconsistent Response. pure marketing for the sale of that one.
