Agreed but just wish they would have at least shipped with the correct channel order and maybe a few decent templates e.g. full house crawler,speed run,race/drift car etc. I have mine set up with throttle cut (with LED indication) throttle to steering mix which lowers steering throws the more is applied and I will set up EXPO on a rotary knob.The last two will mainly be used for carpet racing my GT12 and M-07

guys, check out the radiomaster mt12. it uses elrs, but has the option for a second txc-module (called "4in1") which is compatible to common other receivers like futaba etc. also it has also it runs with the opentx-successor edge-tx, which also means it is programmable via pc. the standard transmitter (incl. accessories and an rx) comes for about 130 to 150. i have just replaced my trusty futaba 4pl with it and it's absolutely worth it.

I was looking at the MT12 to replace a FlySky GT5c which was faulty from new, you couldn't access the menu system and is really laggy at 20-30m
@ukmitch8611 ай бұрын
Hi mate, what's your experience with latency on the MT12?
@TheS4jordan11 ай бұрын
Hi ukmitch, if that was aimed at me I don't have any experience of the MT-12, but like others on here have heard some great reviews and the guy who runs the local RC shop uses Radio master for his Heli's , so can't be that latent, why what have you heard
@AtomskTheGreat11 ай бұрын
@@ukmitch86 haven't raced it yet and can't objectively measure it, but on the bench it is at least equal to t-fhss and that was with the default settings. have yet to tinker with the in-depth configs - if you can sacrifice distance (elrs is specced to over 30km at 250hz) you can increase the packet rate (thus decreasing latency). in short i'd say with elrs the limiting factors will be my servos and my own reaction time.

Hi guys, I have been using the FlySky NB4 for around 6 months now. My initial motivating factor is that the radio can be switched from right handed to left handed easily. Besides that L/R feature... the rest of the system is working great for me.

I started with DX3R and didn't know you could convert it to a lefty, once I switched over it was magic. While Sanwa rightfully enjoys a stellar reputation with racers, I'd exclude their current lowest tier radio, the MX-6 from that. Because a) there's no upgrade path available (the receiver won't work with any other Sanwa radio or vice versa) and b) there are far too many people really having experienced problems with these (great if you haven't yet, but that does not mean others did not have trouble). The previous low-tier radio (the MX-5) didn't have these problems, by the way, but also lacked an upgrade path. Problem is, all other Sanwa radios are quite a bit more expensive and many people shy away from that.
@PopalongRC11 ай бұрын
That’s why Spektrum is a good option as all receivers seem to be compatible
@ruhrpottrc-racingingermany586711 ай бұрын
@@PopalongRC Not sure I agree 100%. Spektrum used to have brownout issues with certain power-hungry servos, so their radios kind of fell out of use in my area. Especially for racing, a good radio is among the most important bits of kit and my advice is to never skimp on that end. My recommendation would be more among the lines of Sanwa (non-MX-6), Futaba or Flysky Noble (Pro) - at least for people who do not drop them.😇
@wasa711 ай бұрын
I started up again with the Futaba and it’s my goto for speedrunning but the receivers are to expensive. I love the Radiolink but find it fussy, to many switches and knobs but my favourite general purpose radio. I have the Radiomaster Mt12 to try if I ever learn how to program it. But the dream Radio I can’t justify, the Futaba 10px 😂

That Rlaarlo set looked really good for the money, superb value. I use the Flysky Noble NB4 set, it's around £200 but you do get 2 receivers, one of which is tiny and has no aerial wire. It's all digital, nice colour touch screen, and has been so reliable I wouldn't use anything else. Fair enough, some more expensive sets might have slightly better latency, but it suits me fine. Also, it can be used left or right handed with zero modification, the wheel itself just pivots round.

If this is half what they say it is, it's great value for money. Can't drive one handed, but other than that, can it be beat for features, range or cost? Merry Christmas 🎄 🍺😂👍🏽 I’m with you on that weird button thing on the DX5 Rugged the DX5C with it’s scrolling wheel is a way better interface and why I chose it for my crawlers, price being the other. Dropping it is always a concern too. I recently got a Futaba 4PM Plus specifically for my Mini Z’s haven’t had it out yet but so far the interface seems like it’s gonna take getting used to (weird button thing again) I still prefer the combo button/scrolling wheel of my Sanwa MT44 & DX5C better yet an actual touchscreen like on the Fly Sky Noble which was the runner up but the Futaba just felt better in my hands and that was a major part of the buying decision since this is a race radio so unlike my DX5C which is just ok and took me modified the grip and steering wheel so it doesn’t feel so cheap and toy-ish to get there.

I raced back in the 27 and 40MHz days. What was great back then was the ability to mix and match. Kept some of the prices sensible. I ran a Futaba TX with HiTec RX on 40MHz and had no issues. Then I shifted to using a Spectrum module in my Futaba TX (3VC) which still works to this day. There were competing module manufacturers again keeping costs competitive Such a shame now that many of the systems are vendor locked. Would be great if they worked out an open standard for 2.4GHz - unless this is already a thing?

Lastly (and most frustrating) when you connect the rear wing servo, if you don’t set the end points straight away, when you activate the servo to move the wing, it doesn’t stop and the servo gears strip. RLAARLO has replaced this servo free of charge, which was nice of them. However, for $39 US you really can’t complain, can you 🤷🏾♂️
