Hi Landon. Can you comment on which online music store gives independent musicians the best percent of royalties when I buy MP3s?
@landon9 жыл бұрын
+Mark Wiersma So if you buy a song on iTunes for 1.29 typically the artist can receive $.99 per sale (and $0.69 if you bought it for $0.99). However, it depends how they distribute the song. Different online distributors may also keep some backend while others do not, and they just charge an annual fee to keep the song in stores. Also if its a cover song the artist has to pay a fee per download to have the rights to sell the song. Spotify and Apple Music pay per stream, but it is very small and I've noticed that it fluctuates a bit depending on if its a paid user or free user. I know thats pretty vague but there really isn't a blanket answer. If you want to support an artist I think you just gotta pick which store you like the best. Hope that helps a little!
@amyli0929 жыл бұрын
+Mark Wiersma Loudr is probably your best option because 100% of the money goes to the artist. Peter Hollens has talked about it before and even though I've never used that service, it'll definitely benefit the artist the most :)

I like your comment so I leave you a comment it's always nice to get a thumbs up but it's difficult to find out who gave it to you so I leave a comment say hey and thank you for the kind gesture. Hyperbole just pretty much means long-winded. I'm not questioning your intelligence there was someone out there who responded one time and told me that hyperbole is the forbidden fruit and question my belief in God. Clearly the man had more to deal with then there ability to comprehend the English language. That's the end of my ranting peace good luck and many blessings

I am from India, and I ve been struggling for a long... I have been doing original songs and music since a lot of time.... trying every genre of music, and still trying.... few of my tracks have crossed millions, and I am very much thankful for that.... but I am unable to earn much from youtube.... and I think my tracks are n't reaching the right audience.... At times, rather than following the global trends, I am going along local interests, "the type" of music that an Indian audience will love hearing (or more specifically, doing it as per taste of people around my state) what should I do? I would appreciate if you could visit my channel, hear out my stuff and aid me with the matter... thanks for the video Landon!

Thanks for your genuine communication and useful information. I have been writing and producing original material since I was an egg and ended up losing faith in the industry. This was due to my incredible all seeing imagination showing me just how many kids are now making music on their computers. It seemed to me that fighting for breath in an ocean of wannabes was not now the right way to try to breath at all! , But..... Making music is the one thing that defines me. Without it I drown! So, I am trapped. Videos like yours deliver a sense of hope and inspiration. I know a huge amount about making music but certainly not enough about selling it. I evolved in a world where someone else was always going to do that for me! Guess what? I never did get whisked off in a limousine to my happy ever after! The world changed. And so I must change with it. Once again.... Thanks for the video, it helped me leave my bed today with a faint glimmer of direction. Have a fantastic day! Keep going, you rock!

It's a circular tube of lighting that has a hole in the middle for your camera to go, and it just lights up your face, basically. Here's on I found on Amazon, but there are a ton of options and even some that are designed to just go around the camera on your phone: www.amazon.com/LimoStudio-Dimmable-Adapter-Diffuser-Installed/dp/B01N0RTAWN/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1500497676&sr=8-24&keywords=ring+light&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011

Landon, I see that youtube has a search mechanism to display status of the cover of a song. For example, if I even use a Johnny Cash song on my video, the only possible thing that could happen is my video monetization would be to the reclaimer. If a make a cover, we can even share some of monetization. I have put several copyrighted songs on some of my videos and youtube only alerts me that monetization goes to the reclaimer. I don´t mind, since I don´t want to make money with that. I only want to use youtube as an advertisement platform for my musical image. What do you think about it ?

That's interesting. I didn't know the owner of the song could take the money from cover videos. That kinda sucks, but I guess it's only fair. @audsdacity7 жыл бұрын
Anil Kumar if it's a cover you're always going to have that copyright issue, labels and their lawyers work with KZbin to check if their copyrighted material is up there constantly. BUT if it's a cover you're still allowed to upload your video, you just won't get ad revenue since it's not your song. Copyright is only a problem when you use the actual copyrighted track straight from the album. That's when you'll get flagged.
