I would take the real estate agency to court. Sue them for the stress they brought on to you. Even contact a local TV station and make a big deal out of it. Please take care and stay in good health. Love your recipes.

Don't let them off the hook, Michael. My favorite weapon are press releases. Detail the story and get the word out about how you were treated. Realtors also have a national organization. Send them a press release. Also, I believe realtors must pass certifications, etc. Contact the agency that handles that issue. Get licenses revoked. Contacting TV Stations and news papers via press releases rather than phone is a wonderful way to get folks attention. Contact your local community organization and let them know how you were treated. A community voice can get really loud. Is there a national organization that represents your community? This "laughing" thing is a form of disrespect, an insult. (I could say more on this matter...but you get it.) My question for you is.. where is your support? Best friend? Family? Sometimes, in my experience, when you seem "alone" people take advantage. What people expect you to do is sit back and stay quiet since your issue was "resolved". They better be glad it wasn't me.

I felt the same way you do. If we sit back and stay quiet and do nothing, nothing will change. They need to be taught a lesson, otherwise, this is going to happen to other people. Someone has to stand up first in order to put things right. I really appreciate all your advice and suggestions. You’re absolutely right, using press releases to get the word out and holding them accountable through organizations is a powerful approach. I hadn’t considered the idea of press releases or involving the national realtor organizations, but I’m definitely going to look into it now. You’re right, that “laughing” was pure disrespect, and it made the whole situation even worse.

​@michaellim I totally agree with her suggestions, Michael, other people would take it to social media to expose the incompetence of the agency. In my understanding, if you have deposited the money 3 months prior and the account as the agent had stated was closed, the receiving bank would contact your bank to inform their client that the account was closed and you will have to get in touch with the agency to double check the bank details. The funds will be floating until it is sorted out. In my honest opinion, the transaction went through,otherwise, you would have heard from the bank or real estate agent. It is a lame excuse on their part. Please make sure the title is clean, have it checked, protect your hard earned investment. I really feel sorry for what they did to you, it was highly incompetent and unprofessional. There should be an after sale commitment or warranty period of at least a month to ensure everything is in good working condition. I hope you are taking great care of yourself and have a support system like a trusted friend or family member. Your dogs are there to give you emotional support, when you are stressed out and anxious, they can sense that and mirror the same level of stress. Stay calm and take them out for a walk, a little sunshine would help. 😊

As an elderly person, just a small suggestion dont do anything when concerned with money without taking it in writing. We live in a very fraudulent world. You can still delete your review. And if possible take some legal help that will scare them, bec you've been quite they're taking advantage of you. But besides everything, first of all please please dont get worked up, bec your life is more important, especially to your wonderful pets around you. Dont give up, the Universe is always with you. On a separate note, this is what i will do in Singapore. It may work different in other country. 1. Take pic and video of the toilet bowl and describe the problem to get a solution + quotation from plumbers. Usually old toilet bowl has a flushing issue and its better to change a completelt new toilet to last for years than just change the flushing system. Its always good to be specific with plumber and electrician becauee their price can be like stock market.

Very sorry to hear of your ordeal. Here in my country, one of the first thing one would do when faced with such situation is to make a police report. Then make formal complaints to government agency and organisations related to property realtors, consumer tribunal or association or community. Don't let them off the hook. Take legal actions.

So sad and bad experience. I understand the physical, mental and phycological stress you have gone through . Thanks a lot for your neighbor Patricia who supports you when you're in need. my observations are as follows 1 you have full trust on the agency. Thinking they efficient and professional in exciting their official responsible assigned to them by their clients but it's really unfortunate events. My advice Get your lawyer to work calm all the damage, both financial, physical and mental stress they caused you. All the repairs they need to do in house they do it. My advice is for you to be very careful in doing any transactions alone always involved a lawyer when it comes dealing with estates agent . Never sign any memorandum of understanding with them they may used it against you when it involves litigation. Lastly !!! Just believe in you self be focus and have faith better things are coming. Any challenges in life teach us a lesson. Sorry once again for sad events. Refresh your self put all happened behind the future is brighter. Best of luck Michael.

Buying and moving to a new home was supposed to be an exciting happy moment. I would write a formal letter of complain to the agency stating every single issue. Give them a time line to resolve the problem and stating a warning that of they do not deliver by the timeline you would seek legal council. Stress accomplishes one thing, destroys your health. So, do not let stress reign, rather put your mind at ease and get moving to resolve the issue. You can do it Michael 💪

I can feel and understand your pain as I had experience with my house purchased in 1983. We assumed everything was in order, however, the night we moved in and we took a shower, all the water came down from the ceiling of our kitchen. Can you believe that? We have to find Plumber to fix the shower plus the kitchen ceiling. In addition, the alarm is fake, not working.

I can definitely feel your frustration! I can’t imagine the shock of having water come down from the kitchen ceiling on your first night in the house. That must have been such a nightmare. It’s unbelievable how many things can go wrong when you think everything is in order, and dealing with a fake alarm on top of that must have been so frustrating.

Please take care of yourself. You had a panic attack which felt like a heartattack.I would've had a walk through before first everything fixed and removed junk removed. Michael, your reaction is understandable, it is not only a matter of amount of money, but also when someone mentally tired, any trivial matter really does matter. Meanwhile I would recommend you to focus on recovering from all these mental and health damages, avoid starting any new confrontation or problem unless it is absolutely necessary. Hearing your story, I interprete that you urgently need to check Plant Paradox and Gut Check. The symptoms you are facing sound like what discussed in the book and you can heal them by following the method in the book. From my experience when an account has been closed, the account number will not be reused for other customer, therefore the money should return automatically to the sender. In your case since the money did not return back to you, then someone must have received it, unless the account owner has declared insolvency, which is not your case

When I was at the bank, the manager said the same thing-that the money should have bounced back if the account was closed. If it didn’t, it means the account number still existed. Sure enough, while I was there trying to sort it out, the real estate boss called, admitting that they did receive the money and blamed the accounting department. It was such a mess! You should back out of the agreement and complain to the news outlets regarding this agent. You should never give them any good reviews until the deal is completed to your satisfaction.

Omg!! I think I would have lost it on those ppl. A few things to store in the back of your mind for next time, always keep a receipt for ANY deposits or money exchanged in real estate transactions, always do a walk through with your representative before signing the deed, and always before purchasing pay to get the house inspected for any damages or repairs, and deduct those estimates from the purchase price or get a credit at the closing/signing table. Isn't the down payment suppose to go into an escrow account? Whoever is holding the deposit is acting as an escrow agent and owes duties to both sides in accounting for the monies being held.
